Brewers' Notes: we sure do love making big ridiculous beers around here, and we definitely love making big ridiculous beers more than we love coming up with good names for those beers, so when we were set to brew our six hundredth batch (we also love celebrating milestones, no matter how arbitrary) we decided to brew up a big ol' barleywine! And we wanted this barleywine to be a little more differenter than just any ol' barleywine, so we took the things you'd normally expect from a barleywine (longer boil, maltier malts) and a few things to give it that Bone Up je ne sais pas* (our house yeast, plus some house-made candi syrup) and now we've got this beautiful beast of a beer (most of which was bound for barrels from birth, so we've got a limited amount of it straight-up) and you should drink some!
* I'm pretty sure this is French for "barleywine flavors"
