Beer Name: Purple Smoothie
Style: Purple IPA (brewed with fruit)
ABV: 8.3%
IBU: 52
Color: Really more of a reddish mauve than a straight purple if we're being honest
Cheese Pairing: Bellavitano Merlot
Food Pairing: A thick cut of steak, cooked up rare as hell.
Music Pairing (Jimbo's Choice): "Start Wearing Purple" by Gogol Bordello
Music Pairing (Jared's Choice): "The Lumberjack Song" by Monty Python
Best Occasion to Drink: Whilst glaring at your rival and concocting elaborate schemes.
Brewers' Notes: Some of y'all may recall Green Smoothie - an IPA brewed from the odds 'n' ends from our Bag O' Misfit Hops. Well that dang ol' bag filled up again and it came time to Do Something about it, so we pondered doin' basically the same thing until somebody (we can't remember who, so we'll put the blame on our cellarman Ben) asked "what if we made it purple?" So we took all the purple stuff we could think of and threw it into a bigass IPA and oh man is it a crazy set of flavors. There's hops and fruit and hops and booze and hops, and it'll leave your palate wondering which way is up.
