Beer Name: Man Overboard
Style: Barrel Aged Dark Strong Ale
ABV: 8.5%
Color: lightly rusted barrel hoops
Cheese Pairing: Camembert
Food Pairing: Buttermilk biscuits (ideally with bacon-chipotle jam, but honey butter would work in a pinch)
Music Pairing (Jimbo's Choice): "Silverwing" by North Star the Wanderer
Music Pairing (Jared's Choice): "Sad Truth" by North Star the Wanderer
Best Occasion to Drink: Whilst waxing poetic about your time at sea
Brewers' Notes: Avast ye topsails, ye scurvy dogs! Yarr's a storm a'brewin' an we mustn't join our brothers in Davy Jones' locker! Hoist the mizzenmast! Stay the tiller! If ye scurvy dogs can keep the crow's nest out of the briny deep, we may yet see another day.
(we don't know pirate words, it turns out)
Anyway, when our new friends from North Star the Wanderer asked if we wanted to make a beer for them, we jumped at the chance! We like boat-themed heavy metal as much as the next person (which is to say, quite a bit), so we set about blending up a buncha tasty barrel-aged beer, looking for a blend with notes of "storm-rocked seas" and hints of "tattered sails" and perhaps the (unrealized) suggestion of capsizing and we daresay we nailed it and now you can have some!
