Beer Name: Melvin the Mammoth (Goes to Kentucky)
Style: Theoretical Barleywine aged in rye barrels
ABV: 8.1%
Color: Sticky toffee brown
Cheese Pairing: Goat Tomme
Food Pairing: Creme brulee
Music Pairing (Jimbo's Choice): "Nude With Boots" by the Melvins
Music Pairing (Jared's Choice): "Isabella" by the Melvins
Best Occasion to Drink: hunkered down in a room with a good fire going
Brewers' Notes: We brewed Melvin with longevity in mind and he's spent the last dang ol' year or so goin' on a vacation! This time around, Melvin spent a stint in a rye barrel* where he gained a whole bunch of worldly knowledge and (more importantly) smooth vanilla flavor notes with a dab of oaky, um, oakiness. This one here's a silky-smooth easy-sippin' tasty treat and we think you'll enjoy the heck out of it!
* Technically the rye barrel is from Pennsylvania, but Kentucky just sounds like much more of a far-off-land full of mystery and whimsy and chicken.
