Beer Name: Tres Brujas (Twilight)
Style: Dry Stout
ABV: 4.9%
Color: Black as night
Cheese Pairing: Herb cheese log
Food Pairing: Rosemary chicken with roasted potatoes.
Music Pairing (Jimbo's Choice): "Tres Brujas" by the Sword
Music Pairing (Jared's Choice): "Pumpkin Rumba" by Las Tres Brujas
Best Occasion to Drink: While hangin' out with some buds
Brewers' Notes: Fueled by a mutual love of stoner metal (specifically The Sword), we* were inspired to get together with some buds and create a beer inspired** by the song "Tres Brujas" and then we did just that! We teamed up with Widowmaker and Remnant and we each made our own spin on the same base recipe*** and also there's some sweet label art and now you get to drink three different beers! We decided to keep things "true to style" for how we do things around here, so we shot for a slightly raisin-sweet take on a classic dry stout, only we used our (half-Belgian) house yeast and that makes it sound a lot more complicated than it is so you should probably just try it!
* If you want to get all technical about it, we at Bone Up can claim almost zero credit for the inspiration behind this beer.
** That's, like, double inspiration right there.
*** Widowmaker's version is a Mexican chocolate stout, so we decided that our cask should be Mexican chocolate as well, which makes that our version of their take of the beer, with our take on the style as the base. Yes, we did come up with this idea while staring intently at our own hands. Why do you ask?
