Beer Name: Melvin the Mammoth (Goes to Belgium)
Style: Theoretical Barleywine blended with whiskey aged Ginger Farmhouse
ABV: 8.1%
Color: dirty blonde. Like, the dirtiest blonde
Cheese Pairing: Halloumi
Food Pairing: Mussels in a white wine garlic sauce
Music Pairing (Jimbo's Choice): "A History of Drunks" by the Melvins
Music Pairing (Jared's Choice): "City Dump" by the Melvins
Best Occasion to Drink: as part of a pit stop during a day of aimless wandering
Brewers' Notes: We brewed Melvin with longevity in mind and he's spent the last dang ol' year or so goin' on a vacation! This time around, Melvin met up with some whiskey-barrel ginger farmhouse where he gained a sense of spiritual fulfillment and (more importantly) a ton of spicy esters and maybe a little bit of whiskey character and there's a whole lot goin' on here but they make a harmonious duo* and it sure is a treat!
*Or a trio, depending on how you look at it, since the ginger farmhouse was also a blend
