Beer Name: Mr. Buttons
Style: Kentucky Common
ABV: 4.8%
IBU: 20
Color: Amberish with a smidge of brown.
Cheese Pairing: Deep fried curds.
Food Pairing: Smoked pork shank.
Music Pairing (Jimbo's Choice): "Them Old Days Are Gone" by Reverend Peyton's Big Damn Band
Music Pairing (Jared's Choice): "Santa Fe Line" by Hillstomp.
Best Occasion to Drink: While lazily floating down a river in a ludicrously-shaped floatie.
Brewers' Notes: As you may well know, we like to make special beers to honor the memories of pooches who have brightened our lives in the past. We're also pretty big fans of collaborating with beer friends (because that's objectively rad), so when our friends at Valley Malt mentioned their dearly departed doggo Mister Buttons, well, the ol' wheels started turning and soon enough we had a recipe for a Kentucky Common! For those of you who ain't too familiar with the style (we weren't, and we spend pretty much all our time thinking about beer), it's essentially an easy-sippin' amber with a whole lotta history behind it. This one in particular is made with a whole buncha rye (and some other good stuff) from Valley Malt and it's nice 'n' toasty and oh-so-tasty: a perfect tribute to a Good Boy.
