Beer Name: Close Encounters
Style: Smoked Farmhouse Ale
ABV: 8.1%
Color: Like... brownish orange? It's maybe not a color that immediately makes you say "oh yes I want to drink that" which you can maybe use to your advantage, because now you don't have to share.
Cheese Pairing: Cannoli filling eaten directly out of a piping bag
Food Pairing: Chicharrones
Music Pairing (Jimbo's Choice): "What it is to Be Free" by KIND
Music Pairing (Jared's Choice): "Power Grab" by KIND
Best Occasion to Drink: while in the middle of a night that you just know is gonna end with fried food
Brewers' Notes: We're beyond stoked that our friends in KIND wanted us to make a beer for their latest album (Close Encounters, natch) so we hunkered down around the ol' blending table and grabbed a mysterious mix of beers ranging from smoky to fruity to smooth to strong (including more than a few that were aged in Summer Reserve barrels from our neighbors at Short Path) and we concocted up this concoction from parts that don't seem like they should go together, but which blend as harmoniously as they would if they were made to go together and anyway the point is that it's weird, but it works! And you should drink some!
