Beer Name: Biere de Melons
Style: Saison with melons
ABV: 6.5%
Color: Honey gold, with a smidge of canteloupe orange
Cheese Pairing: Briny French Feta
Food Pairing: Fresh mozzarella, roasted red peppers, and a scattering of arugula on a nice crusty roll (balsamic and olive oil optional but encouraged), maybe throw in some soppressata or coppa if you're feelin' fancy.
Music Pairing (Jimbo's Choice): "Bohemian Rhapsody" by Queen
Music Pairing (Jared's Choice): "Kidney Pie" by The Weisstronauts
Best Occasion to Drink: Sitting in a field at dusk and watching the sun set.
Brewers' Notes: The Mass Brewers Guild is throwin' Beer Prom* once again, and this year our dang ol' dance partner is none other than Concord-based Saltbox! Anyway, we hosted one of those "collaborative brews" that all the kids are talkin' about these days and they rolled up with a buncha local honey and some muskmelons that they grew on their farm (because of course they have a farm. And a restaurant) and to be honest we didn't entirely know what a "muskmelon" was** but we threw 'em in anyway and now we've got us an easy-drinkin' honey-sweet lightly-fruity lil' ol' beer and dang but it is tasty!
* Also known as the Great Mass Collab
** Still don't, if we're being truthful
