Music Pairing (Jared's Choice): YMCA, but in a minor key
Best Occasion to Drink: while you're crashing a dog's birthday party

Brewers' Notes: We ain't brewed a ding dang dog beer in a dang ol' minute and we aim to fix that, dagnabbit! This here's a biscuity, chocolately slightly sweet lil' number to honor the memory of Rufus, a beer lovin' lil' pile o' puddin'! And as always, we're servin' this beer in Special Dog Glasses and if you buy a dog glass the proceeds go to a dog-related charity!

Now, we never got to meet Rufus (he was the beloved pet of two of our taproom customers), but we were able to get a list of his owners' favorite memories of him!

• Walking him once I was talking to him and he turned around to look at me and walked into a street sign post. “Dooonng"
• I used to feed him my pizza crusts under the table.
• Cackling, impatient, hyena during fetch.
• Played so hard at the park, we had to carry him home.
• Snored.... a lot. Very loud short nosed dog.
• Very tolerable of his “sister” Delilah, who is named after a dive bar in Chicago, not that awful pop song.
• Hyperventilated when he got excited.
• Was a good homebrew partner. Loved sitting around and waiting for the wort to boil.  At least one of us did.
• Half Boston terrier. Half French bulldog. Was actually an accident at the breeder which is how he ended up in a pet store.
• He was brown/black/brindle... perfect for a brown ale!
• Won a Chicago bar’s halloween dog costume contest. He went as Yoda.
• He frequented Precinct bar back in the day (pre-Brass Union and perpetual construction of Union Sq).  
• Love drinking spilled beer. There was never a lost/wounded soldier w Rufus around!
• Loved swimming.
