Hello again! I hope you're ready for our continued onslaught of good beers and good times, because that's exactly what we've got comin' for ya! And to kick things off on pretty much the exact opposite of that note, it's in our collective best interest to let you know that we're starting to run low on Henrietta, particularly on draft (despite the fact that it's only technically been "summer" for less than a week). It's not yet Imminent that she'll be tucked away to hibernate until next summer, but that day is coming and we figured we'd give y'all ample time to stock up if that's your thing. But anyway moving on into the fun and/or tasty times that I promised you mere paragraphs ago, on Friday we've got a fun-as-hell event that's got a beer (re)release attached to it and that event is Air Guitar! More specifically, we're hosting the US Air Guitar Regional Championships (tickets here) and we're once again releasing The Airness in cans for the event (and also we'll have it around for a while after the event, so you can drink some and be like "man, I remember how much fun that air guitar competition was" or whatever it is you say to yourself when you reminisce about air guitar competitions)! And to "sweeten the deal" this lil' ol' shindig is also a benefit to raise money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and we'll be giving them $1 for every pour of The Airness and anyway the point is that you should come the hell out! You can even compete if you want, the guy that won last year showed up to this event by accident (and maybe didn't fully realize he was competing? It was an interesting day), which means you've got a chance too! Anyway otherwise we're mostly "playin' it cool" for the weekend on account of how it's kinda-sorta a holiday weekend (happy Scare The Crap Out Of Liz And Jared's Dogs Day, everyone!) and also we've got a couple beers "waiting in the wings" because of Reasons (one of which is that we don't have any open draft lines, another is that we can't fit more new cans on the menu, yet another is that it's just more fun to have new releases spaced out a bit rather than just all dumped on the menu simultaneously) and anyway we've got some Holiday Hours goin' on as mentioned in this handy dandy infographic: And then next week we're bringin' things back Full Force, with Warped Tour Throwback Trivia happening next Thursday and T. Bloodhound playin' some tunes for us next Friday and then Riot Grrl Yoga followed by a day full of live music (specifically The Chelsea Curve, Duck and Cover, and Stars Like Ours) next Saturday and also we'll probably have one or several of those new beers I was talking about and anyway the point is that it's fun times all the way down!
Well hello there! I hope you want some things for to be doing because that's all the doing we've been having for! Or something. Anyway, beer etc comin'up, read the thing so you know the things. And the first for drinking is already knowing and that's Key Lime! We did say about this last week, but we didn't have about this last week and now we do have about this and you can too! Right now! And speaking of fruit-forward beers that are available right now we've got another fruit-forward beer that's available right now! This one is called Main Squeeze and it was brewed to celebrate the nuptials of our friends Katherine and Kyle and it's a smooth-sippin' saison with a lotta lemon and a little lavender and it's made to be enjoyed "shandy style" (i.e. with a bit of a non-alcoholic beverage mixed in for a Refreshing Summer Treat) but it's also damn tasty on its own and anyway what we're saying is you should probably grab a buncha cans and get to experimentin' because it's been too damn long since we mixed up a mess o' beertails and we wanna hear your suggestions! And while we're on about cool beers that we put into cans, we've got another new beer in cans and this one is pretty much the Big Release for the weekend because it's meant to pair with all our Saturday Fun Times and also if's a collab with our friends in Lobzter King (which, of course, means that we had to name it Bone King) and anyway it's a tripel that takes inspiration from their candied yams which means we mashed up a whole mess of sweet potatoes and crammed 'em on into the mash tun and also we threw in a heap of brown sugar and there's some cinnamon notes in there if you really squint your tastebuds and the point is that it's completely tasty as hell and you should drink some! And then movin' on to fun times for the week we're kickin' off the week on Thursday with Scream Trivia! We'll be doin' a "deep dive" into all six Scream movies and if we're being honest we (team name: The Management) just now learned that there are six of these movies, which means that all the studying we've been doing* is gonna be less effective than we might have thought but it's still gonna be fun as hell and you should join us! Then on Friday we're playin' it low key around the ol' taproom, but playin' it low key still demands snacks, and snacks we shall have! More to the point, Koselig Posto is gonna be poppin' up all evening and their food is completely delicious, so come hang and eat some snacks with us! And then on Saturday we got a big ol' hullabaloo but first we're gonna ease into the day with some yoga! This time it's indie music themed and we're diggin' the variety of musical themes that they bring to yoga, even if we personally are not really the "awake in time to do yoga" types and anyway the people that are able to wake up that early sure do enjoy the heck out of it, so come get your stretch on! And then a little later on Saturday we've got a whole buncha hullabaloo! We're callin' it Surf 'n Turf and so obviously we've got two food vendors - Tasty BBQ (who does indeed make some tasty barbecue) and Lobzter King (who we made a whole beer for and also their food is incredible) and also we're gonna have music from The Weisstronauts and The Electric Heaters and The Malfunctions AND we've got some cool vendors settin' up shop, namely Burning Brews Candles, Rike Knows Apparel, and Mack Soaps and it's gonna be a damn fine afternoon and you should come hang out! And then I ain't gonna get too "in the weeds" about next weekend except to say that next Friday marks the return of Air Guitar! For those of you who missed it last year, you sure as heck want to check it out this time around - we've got the best air guitarists in the region comin' out to strut their stuff (and also YOU can sign up to compete if you want. The guy that won last year didn't even 100% realize that he was competing) and it's just completely a blast. Words cannot describe the spectacle that is organized air guitar, and also we can't even begin to count the number of times we had to confiscate glitter from the emcee, but the point is that it's a hoot and you should grab a ticket! * Watching them once, generally in the theater on their first run.
Howdy friends! We have several fun things for you to do this week, not to mention a whole host of tasty beers and snacks galore (which I guess also counts as "fun things" because drinkin' and snackin' are fun) and anyway let's get to it! But first off we've got to start off on a moderate bummer note which is that cask is on hiatus for the summer on account of how Cellar Temperature is maybe not the most ideal thing when it's a jillion degrees outside? Anyway we don't wanna deal with the emotional turmoil of dumping out cask beer just because of the weather so we're keepin' the ol' beer engine off until it cools down a bit (though we will have a cask for the anniversary in August, heat be damned!). And speaking of beer and/or warm weather, we're fast approaching the return of everyone's* favorite summer sipper and that's Key Lime White! We've heard your (many) requests to bring her back and we finally found a spot in the production schedule and she'll be on tap as soon as we free up a line (so if you're lookin' to speed this process up, we suggest you focus on either Shade Queen or Joybringer in the short term)! Anyway that's all we've got for beer news at the moment (but don't you worry, we've got lots of cool stuff in the very near future) so let's get on with the good times and the first such good time is Vinyl 101 with Light of Day Records and that just so happens to be tonight (Wednesday) and it's a hella good time and you should come check it out even if you "know the skinny" when it comes to vinyl because Chris pretty much always has several tricks up his sleeve! And then movin' one space forward on the ol' Board Game of Time we've got two fun things happening on Thursday and one of them involves cheese! More to the point, we're teamin' up with Formaggio and doin' a four-course beer and cheese pairing shindig and it's gonna be - at minimum - double delicious, so you should probably come drink beer and eat cheese with us! And then also on Thursday is another Bonsai Bar! These folks come around fairly frequently so you probably already know the drill, but just in case you don't - a ticket gets you a tiny tree and some teachin' on techniques about tiny trees (caring for them, trimming them, presumably keeping them tiny?) and anyway it's a hoot and you should come out! Then on Friday we've got Hall Monitor playin' a solo set and we've also got Lobzter King in the house servin' up their scrumptious-ass lobster-based eats and dang but it's gonna be a good time! Then on Saturday we've got our Punk Rock Picnic featuring Baabes and Muzzins and The Imposers! We'll be rockin' out all afternoon and as an "added treat" we've got Revelry bringin' the food! It's been pretty much forever since they've been here and they won't be bringin' their truck like they usually do (for logistical reasons on our end) but they've been kind enough to swing through as a popup and their food is completely killer and anyway come eat tasty food and listen to some good tunes! And then lookin' into that ol' crystal ball it looks like we're gonna have some cool stuff next week too! We've got Scream Trivia happening next Thursday and more music-themed yoga next Saturday (this time it's indie themed) and then our Surf 'n Turf marketplace/live music event is also next Saturday which means you'll get to check out a buncha cool local vendors while listening to a buncha surf rock and eating tasty food and anyway it's gonna be fun as hell! * By "everyone" I mean "several people who happen to be quite vocal on the matter"
Oh hey there! I hope you're in the mood for a buncha fun times and tasty beers because that's what we got comin' atcha! But first we'd like to thank everyone who came out for GARF last weekend - despite the drizzly dreariness of the day we managed to rock the heck out and in the process (and, of course, thanks to y'all's generosities) we managed to raise a thousand friggin' dollars for BAGLY and we think that's pretty friggin' rad! Anyway moving on to the here and or now and here with the now we've got cask! More to the point it's the triumphant return of our 666th batch (namely, We're All Doomed) to the ol' beer engine and since this beer was literally made to be served on cask, it's pretty much perfect? Anyway it's gettin' tapped on Thursday and hopefully there'll be some left for the doomy festivities this weekend but we've got more beer stuff to get through before we get to that, so let's get on with it! And get on with it we shall, for the next beer up on our List Of Beers To Talk About is Django! Django is a delicious hazy IPA made in honor of the memory of a cute lil' corgi (named Django, if you can believe it) and it's full of a whole bunch of our most favoritest hops and anyway it's on draft and in cans right now and you should drink some! And what of cans, you ask? Well I'm glad you asked because we've got another new(ish) beer in cans and it's Stick the Landing! This beer first graced our menu for the anniversary last year and we're downright stoked to say that it's back again (which means we've got TWO milds on the menu at the same time, which is both ridiculous and very exciting for us) and anyway it's also available right now and it's tasty as ever! And movin' on to all the cool stuff we've got planned for you, we're startin' off strong tonight (Wednesday) with two cool things happening in/around the taproom! The first (or "first" since they're at the same time) is our monthly Fiddle Jam Session, wherein a buncha folks gather together to play some old timey tunes and you're welcome to join in the fun (either playing or listening)! And then also tonight (which, again, is Wednesday) we've got a Suminagashi Coaster Workshop! This one's new to us, but it seems like a super cool way to do some art and also all the photos we've seen from previous classes have been friggin' gorgeous, so come check it out! And then on Thursday we've got another night of Simpsons Trivia! The theme this month is "Bart" which is maybe not the easiest to study for but it'll for sure be a fun time and you should come out! And then starting on Friday is the day(s) that you've been waiting for and that's Boston is Doomed! We're gettin' a whole buncha doom/stoner/fuzz bands from in and around the area (namely Blue Manic, Mollusk, and The Buffalo Ryders on Friday and Swarmcatcher, Ballast, Green Inferno, Crowfeeder, Sundrifter, and Black Pyramid on Saturday) and we're gonna rock out! We've also got An Thoi Vietnamese poppin' up on Friday and Seabiscuit in the house on Saturday and it's gonna be hella fun and it's worth mentioning that it *is* a ticketed event but tickets ain't expensive and you can get them right here and you should come listen to some awesome music with us! And on a related note, right in the middle of all that doominess, we've got Metal Yoga with Crystal in the morning on Saturday so if you wanna get your stretch on before you get your doom on, come on out! And then on Sunday we're gonna have a yard sale! Why not! We'll be settin' up a table with a buncha odds 'n ends from around the brewery (mostly old/forgotten merch, but there's gonna be some beer/brewing stuff in there too. Pretty sure we've got the draft tower for a kegerator kickin' around somewhere) and we invited some friends to come by set up their own tables and we figured the perfect pairing for some hagglin' (other than beer) would be coffee so we've also got El Colombiano Coffee comin' by and poppin' up so we can get some real energetic bargaining goin' on and anyway that's also gonna be fun and you should swing by and buy some of our old crap! And the fun times don't stop comin' at the end of the weekend, nosiree. We've got another pour painting class next Tuesday and another Vinyl 101 with Light of Day Records next Wednesday (and I haven't been to one of those yet, but I'm told it's a Worthwhile Experience) and the return of Bonsai Bar next Thursday which is also the same day as our Beer and Cheese Pairing with Formaggio Kitchen which will obviously be tasty times and then we're cappin' that off with a weekend fulla live music (Hall Monitor next Friday followed by the Punk Rock Picnic next Saturday) and anyway the point is that there's always cool stuff goin' on and you should come have fun with us!
