Firstly, as always, we're tappin' a new cask this Thursday! This time around it's a beer that's relatively new to the menu, but which has become a fast favorite of ours around here: Azacca! It's nice 'n' light 'n' refreshing, and we've got a hunch that it'll pair quite nicely with a handful of MA-grown Four Star Cascade, so we put some right on in there!
Oh hi there! Welcome back! We've got some tasty times for all y'all, both soon and on the horizon, so sit on down and read on up and we'll tell you what we've got goin' on! The only beer you need right now. And speaking of Four Star Farms, we recently had the opportunity to pop by our favorite hop growers and check on all their lil' hoplets, and dang but they're lookin' great! But you ain't gotta take my word for it, because we got pictures galore!* Check out how good they look! New beer festival location? Gettin' all kinds of up close and personal with the lil' hoplets (we're told that's a technical term) Speaking of things that are great, we're less than two short months away from the taproom's second birthday party! We still gotta lock down a detail or two, but the general plan is to do what we did last year, only bigger and/or betterer: beers and music and meats and treats - the whole dang nine! You've got two months' notice, which means you've got plenty of time to come up with a plausible-ish excuse get out of any current and/or future plans that you might have for that day. Remember how much fun that was? We gon' double all that up! Anyway, bringin' things a little closer to Present Times: are you a yoga fan (or perhaps even yoga-curious), but not always down with listening to a bunch of recordings of waterfalls or whale sounds or whatever the heck they play in most yoga classes? If so, we've got just the ticket: Black Widow Yoga is hostin' Metal Yoga in our taproom this Saturday at 10:30! Hail Satan. Strengthen your core. Lastly but not leastly, in case you missed it: we released another dang ol' new beer last weekend! It's a Kentucky Common (essentially a toasty little amber) and its name is Mr. Buttons, brewed to honor a pooch of the same name, and it comes in a cool custom glass! And as you've seen us do a time or two in the past, if you wanna keep that sweet glassware, it's only three bucks and we'll donate those bucks to a dog rescue! Tasty beers, rad glassware, good causes, dogs - what more could you ask for? * "Pictures galore" obviously means "two pictures, three if you count the one I accidentally took of my feet"
Hello! How are you? I hope you're doing well, and I hope you're in the mood for a whole slew of tasty new beers because that's exactly what we're gonna give ya! But before we get to that, we (specifically Jimbo and Jared) have recently been selected for a unique and unexpected honor, and we're pretty excited to share it with all of you: we've been asked to be judges at the US Air Guitar Regional Championships this Saturday! It's gonna be a fun event (and one we're downright flattered to be a part of), and it's open to the public as far as we know, so y'all should come on out! We have it on moderately good authority that there will be silly costumes. Anyway. Beer. As of late, our draft list has had a few more holes in it than we would have liked (because of reasons), so we're fixin' that folly by puttin' out two new beers this week! First up, on tap right dang now, is a single hop blonde ale named (and featuring) Azacca! It's a tasty, tropically fruity, easygoing little beer that'll pair perfectly with some patio times! Then on Thursday as a change of pace from the new stuff, we've got an old favorite back on cask: Wasted Life! It's been a little while since we've seen this beer on cask, so we're pretty stoked to see her revvin' the ol' beer engine once again - this time fortified with a heapin' helpin' of MI-grown Chinook! On Saturday we ain't releasing any new beers (at least not that we know of), but we will be hosting a fun run in the morning! So if you're the exercising type and you wanna get some post-run beer in you downright immediately afterwards, come on out and join us! Then on Sunday at some point, we'll have another new beer! Just like I said we would! And this one's a doozy because it's our two hundredth batch (which we have obviously named Bison Penny)! We love us some a good milestone around here, so to celebrate the slew of yeast pitchin' and grain haulin' and dry hoppin' that preceded this beer, we decided to brew up a big ol' super saison featuring some of our favorite ingredients (which are often from some of our favorite people)! This is a big ol' beer, but keeping in the Bone Up spirit, it's sneaky-smooth enough that it'll slip past your tastebuds lickety-split and you'll wanna drink two hundred of 'em! (Please do not try to drink two hundred beers, especially not all at once.) In other (exciting, expansion-related) news, our architectural drawings were finally finalized this week! We've been keepin' busy painting and planning and building furniture these last couple of months, but without knowing what the city needed from us rennovations-wise, we couldn't do much more than that. And now we can! Unless the building department doesn't like the drawings!
Howdy do, cats and kittens! I hope you're lookin' for new beers and fun times, because that's exactly what we've got to offer! First up, on tap now, is Four Star Smoothie! We collaborated with our friends at Four Star Farms and used a bunch of their proprietary(ish) hop blend CrysCade in this here beer (which means it's got a bit more... focus than our smoothie beers tend to have) and it's citrusy and grassy and ever so tasty. Try some! And if you're in the mood to brood, we've also got the deep and complex and deeply complex Joyrider! Long story short, it's a rye-whiskey-barrel-aged version of Joybringer, but oh man does it have some hidden depths to plumb. Then on Thursday, we're finally gonna strut our stuff up on stage with our all-new Simpsons Trivia Night! This is our first time doin' this, but we have it on moderately good authority that our host has some fun tricks up his sleeve, so come on out and join the party! Speaking of which, we've got a special cask release on Thursday: Bart's Comet! This is definitely something that we made with trivia night in mind and not just a normal beer with a Simpsons-related name slapped on it. Nope. And while we're on the subject of casks, we should also probably mention the cask fest that we'll be pourin' at this weekend! Long story short, we'll be schleppin' on down to Cape Cod Brewing to pour a bunch of casks! There'll be good beer and good times, so you should come hang out! And while we're on the subject of hangin' out, we'd like to give a shoutout to all the awesome brewery peeps that have helped us kick off our industry kickball "league!" We came up with the idea to get together a couple times a week for some pickup kickball games down the street from our taproom, and so many local Beer Friends answered our calls! Peeps from Night Shift, Wormtown, Notch, Castle Island, Modern Draught, Short Path, Jack's Abby, (the soon-to-be) Oddfellows, Lord Hobo, Aeronaut, and of course our own humble operation came out to play and it's oh so much fun! If you're in the brewery industry yourself, you should join! Email us for the details at [email protected]! Lastly but far from leastly, we figured that y'all were moderately to very overdue for an update on all this expandin' we're tryin' to do, and we aim to fix that! But before we delve into the nitty gritty, it's worth mentioning that the one question you're hoping we'll answer - namely, "when all this gon' be done" - is something we (frustratingly - for us in particular) don't have an answer for. But that don't mean we ain't been busy! Thanks to a flurry of activity (and some massively appreciated help) we got most of the cosmetic stuff in the taproom mostly done - flooring and molding and painting and tables and countertops and that sweet mural that Jimbo's been painting and probably at least one other thing that I'm not thinking of (though now that I think about it, a rug would really tie the room together). And on toppa all that, a lot of the Behind The Scenes stuff is well underway - the new tanks are up and running and the plumbing's done and the tile installation for the new production floor is scheduled and our new cold room is bein' built as we speak! Now all we gotta do is tie up a few "loose ends" like convincing the city to let us use this dang ol' space that we spent so much time building out - should be easy, right?
Hi friends! Welcome back! We've got a whole buncha good times and good beers (and maybe some tasty treats to go along with 'em), so check out all this stuff we're doing! Firstly, on Thursday, we've got our trusty monthly music trivia: Audio Triviality! And since this is the one-year anniversary of our first dang ol' trivia night, word on the street is that our host has a few extra tricks up his sleeve - so if you're feelin' trivial (and it wouldn't hurt it you're also a fan of bands with names like "Femur Grinder"), come on by and test your metal mettle! Celebrating one year of silly and sometimes questionable prizes. And to go along with all that triviality, we've got a fresh cask of a beer that's become a fast favorite around here: Comet Bomb! And guess what - we dry hopped it with more comet! Comet party! Followin' hot on the heels of all them festivities, this Friday (probably) marks the return of Loretta! Y'all have been diggin' this purple beer, so it would be downright silly to turn you down. Getting you White Girl Tipsy since 2018. And to "sweeten the deal," on Friday, we've also got new-to-us Jean Louis Pasta comin' in and dishin' up some small-batch ravioli! If you like foods-stuffed-with-other-foods as much as we do (and you should, the best way to serve a food is by cramming it into a different one), come on by and eat some eats! Buffalo chicken raviloli? Sign me the frig up! Speaking of foods that are their own packaging, this Saturday we've got Spoko back in the house with their delicious-as-all-get-out pierogi! If you need to find us, we'll be complaining about how full we are, in between bites of pierogi because we can't stop eating those things. Because a life without pierogi is hardly worth living. Lastly, we pretty much completely missed the boat on announcing the coloring contest winners on the blog last week, so this ain't gonna be a surprise for nobody, but here they are anyway! Our winner, @spac3cowg1rl! |
