Anyway, the development of real, actual, tangible progress always raises the question of "is it close to done yet" (and/or the related question of "do you know when it will be done") and the answer is no! Of course not! Why would it be? But seriously, there's still a bunch of stuff to be done in terms of buildout, and most of it needs to be done by people who are, like, "witness protection program" levels of difficult to reach (including the building's plumber, who recently completed his quarterly half-day of work on our space, which means the fixtures will remain half-installed until mid summer). Anyway, there's also the fact that we can't even start the lengthy permitting processes (federal, state, and town are all separate processes that can't happen simultaneously for some reason) until all the aforementioned work is done (and inspected, which can take months in and of itself), but the point is that things are moving again!* ​

And then looking forward to next week, we've got more fun times lined up for next week! Following up on the successful fun times we had at the last Rock Band Night, we're havin' another Rock Band Night next Wednesday (5/3) so brush up on your fake guitar skills and come join us! Then next Thursday (5/4) is the next installment of Audio Triviality (our music-themed trivia night) and the theme is "Rock 'n Weird" which is a kinda vague theme, but Matt's good at weird so it's guaranteed to be a fun time and you should come out! And then next Saturday (5/6) we've got our Spring Bazaar featuring some cool local vendors (Nubble Light Candles, Atlas Moon Art, and Bali Marle) plus our FIRST dang ol' outdoor live music of the season (featuring DnA’s Evolution, Thrust Club, and Radio Compass) AND the rerelease of our much-anticipated summer seasonal and anyway it's gonna be a good time and you should come hang with us! ​

Hello there! What's that you say? It's been a dang ol' while since we've released a new beer? And we should maybe release several new beers over the course of this week (and next week, for that matter)? Well dang, you're right! It has been a dang ol' while and et cetera, so we're gonna do all that stuff I said! ​

And while we're talkin' about cask, we might as well mention that we've got a cask goin' to NERAX! Which is this weekend! And the good folks at NERAX took the concept of "Gentleman's Friday"* and extended it by an extra day which means that it starts today (Wednesday) and runs through the weekend (we'll be there for the industry session on Friday and we might be there embarrassing ourselves thoroughly at the evening session that very same day) and if you're not "in the know" on what NERAX is it's pretty much the best fest around because it's less "drinking two ounce pours out of a plastic cup in a field and/or parking lot" and more "drinking imperial pints of cask beer (which was specifically imported for the event) in a place whose vibe is somewhere between 'VFW' and 'church basement.'" Anyway the point is we're gonna have a cask of Shut Up Kelly there (a cask we fortified with some cherry-liqueur-soaked oak chips, no less) and it's gonna be tasty (most of the casks will be tasty) and you should go drink some! ​

And speaking of new beers, only this time ones with stories attached to them, we've got another new beer comin' out! And this one's got a story attached to it! See, Chris (the owner of Light of Day Records, the record shop that's in our taproom) wanted to do a big to do about Record Store Day (more on that in a minute), and the main way we do a big to do about things around here is to brew a beer about them, so we brewed a beer about Light of Day and we're releasing it for Record Store Day! It's a nice 'n bright hoppy saison that's laser focused on the new-to-us hop Pekko which is nice 'n fruity and maybe a little herbal (which is - somewhat accidentally - completely on-style for a saison) and anyway it's tasty as heck and it's gonna be available in cans Saturday. Anyway, it's tasty and you should come have some with us! ​

Anyway we've also got a ton of cool events lined up for you (many of which have a food pairing!) so here we go! 

On Wednesday we're hosting a Sip & Script Calligraphy Class, so if you wanna learn to write letters all fancy-like while sipping some suds, come on by! Classes include all the supplies you'll need, so just bring a headful ideas and a willingness to learn and/or drink! 

Then on Thursday Matt's hosting stoner trivia! He's gonna be gettin' into the groove with the nitty-gritty on many peoples' favorite plant (including lots of cultural references, I'm sure) and the lucky winners will win some special prizes** and it's gonna be a ton of fun and also it wouldn't be a stoner-themed event without snacks so we've got Seabiscuit up in the house serving up some of their delicious-ass hand pies and it's gonna be a ton of fun! 

And moving on to Friday we've got a pre-Record-Store-Day event and that's Beer & Vinyl Pairing! You'll get a flight of beer and Chris (remember Chris? Our vinyl guy? From a few paragraphs ago, and also just in general?) will play some "deep cuts" off of records that pair well with the beers and there's sure to be some super interesting anecdotes thrown into the mix (at least, there always have been when we've gone) and it's completely a good time! And to "sweeten the deal" we'll also have El Barbon Tacos in the taproom all evening (regardless of whether you bought a ticket to the event) and their food is mighty tasty, so come on out! ​

* Thursday. And, of course, the term "gentleman" is intended as gender-neutral. 
** No, we're not giving you weed. We're not allowed to. Weed paraphernalia on the other hand...
*** Honestly, "low-hype comedy show in the side room at a brewery" is something I would probably pass over if I saw it happening elsewhere, but Erin finds some really funny comedians for this so I'm happy to be proven wrong. ​

And speaking of tasty new beers, we figured we'd drop a little "teaser" that we're gonna have a tasty-ass new IPA on tap next week but you're gonna have to keep them eyes peeled if you want more sweet deets on that ol' beer! 

And then moving on to Fun Times for the week, here are the fun times for the week! On Wednesday (also known as tomorrow) we're hosting our monthly Fiddle Jam Session! It's an open-invite hoedown where anyone with an instrument can come join in and play some old-timey tunes, so come on by and kick out some jams! 

Then on Thursday we've got another monthly event comin' back around and this one's Simpsons Trivia! The theme for the month is "Homer" which is definitely not in any way a broad brush but that ain't matter because it's gonna be fun as hell (and also we just restocked the prize box, which means we've got more socks* if that's your thing) and you should come out! 

And then gettin' into the Weekend Proper we've got Birria Gordita Tacos in the house on Friday slingin' their tasty tacos (and also birria ramen. Holy hell that ramen is so good) and then for the "early birds" we've got New Wave Yoga with Crystal on Saturday morning and then of course we have our regularly-scheduled Sunday sushi class and it's gonna be a fun weekend! ​

​Hi kids! It's that time again (blog time) and we're here to blog up the blogginest blog we can and also probably talk about snacks or something, so let's get on with it! 

And first on up we've got cask! And this particular cask is particularly special on account of how - for the second week in a row! - the cask is a special sneak peek at a beer that hasn't been released yet! More to the point, this Thursday we're tappin' a cask of our collab beer with Light of Day Records (which we creatively named Light of Day) and we're gonna be releasing that beer on Record Store Day because we're doin' a big thing for Record Store Day but anyway we've got a cask of it and we dry hopped the heck outta that cask with some Sticky Fingers (which you might recognize from the also-creatively-named Sticky Fingers that's currently on tap) and anyway we have it on good authority (ourselves) that this cask is gonna be hella tasty so come on out and cask it up with us! ​

But wait! Before I get on with all the additional cool things we're doin' on Thursday (there are several), it behooves us to mention that there's a pour painting class goin' on in our side room tonight (Wednesday) so if you're lookin' to do some last-minute art, go on and grab a ticket!

And then moving back to Thursday, we've got more cool stuff happening on Thursday! We're hosting our monthly music-themed trivia and this month's theme is Iron Maiden (which is entirely unrelated to the appearance of the Iron Maiden pinball machine, unless our trivia plans function as some sort of vision board? Uncertain) and also we've got Birria Gordita Tacos poppin' up in the taproom for the evening so come on by because it's gonna be fun and/or tasty times! ​

And lastly, looking even farther into the future, we've got some fun stuff for future times (i.e. next week)! First up is an event that we're hosting in preparation for the "big holiday" in April and instead of getting all "wink nudge tee hee" about the fact that it's the "weed day" we figured we'd just friggin' own it and anyway next Tuesday we're hosting bong painting! And then next Wednesday is our monthly Fiddle Jam Session where we wholeheartedly encourage you to bring your fiddle to the taproom and come jam out (we're surprisingly amenable to fiddles most other times, but you'll get a lot fewer weird looks if you bring it next Wednesday) and then next Thursday we've got our monthly Simpsons Trivia and the theme for the month is "Homer" which is definitely not any sort of cry for help from Chris but anyway even more to the point is the fact that we've freshly stocked our supply of weird Simpsons-themed prizes which means fresh pickin's on the strangest knockoff merch that we could find and anyway all of these events are gonna be fun as hell so you should probably just be here every day?
