In Which We Party Party Party!

Oh hi! How are you? We're just dandy, thanks for asking. And why are we so dandy, you ask? Why it's because we've got a buncha cool stuff we get to share with you! Check it out!

First and/or foremost is a cool thing we get to share with a select few of you (i.e. the select few who were aware/awake when we made Mug Club memberships available) and that's a Mug Club event! More to the point, the taproom and beer garden will be closed to the general public tonight (Wednesday) for a mug club event. So if you're in the Mug Club, come on out! We've got some cool stuff lined up!

And speaking of cool stuff, we've got some beer releases to announce! First on up is the rerelease of Seven X's, our ESB that we brew for The Weisstronauts every year* and it's available in cans right now and it's every dang bit as good as we remember and you should drink some!

And while we're on the subject of tasty beers brewed for cool people, we've got RPM goin' on draft on Saturday (for the RPM party, which we'll get to in a bit) and it's a delicious lil' session IPA that we brewed with Rakau and Paradigm and Mackinac (get it?) and we'll also be sendin' some kegs of it to the actual RPM Fest but we ain't wanna wait that long to get our grubby little paws on this beer so it's here now!

And movin' on into the "fun times for the weekend" portion of the blog, we've got some fun times lined up for the weekend! First up is a low-key acoustic set in the beer garden on Friday courtesy of (half of**) Fauxmenco! We've had these cats around here before and we thoroughly enjoyed the absolute heck outta their music and we think you will too!

Then on Saturday we've got that RPM party I mentioned! The fine folks behind RPM Fest wanted to throw a "pre party" shindig here featuring some of the bands that'll be playing at the fest and of course we jumped at the chance and now it's happening! We've got Stormstress, Goblet, and Thunderforge gracing the stage plus we've got Feel More Hot Sauce poppin' up to vend and also we've got Lala's slingin' pizzas all afternoon and it's gonna be a great time and you should come hang out!

And then lookin' forward to next week, we're kickin' things off next Thursday with Music and Beer Trivia and then next Friday we've got an acoustic set from Tiny the Bear and next Saturday we're hosting the Saturday session of Somergloom (which is just so friggin' cool you guys) and anyway the point is that you should also come party with us next week!

* We used to brew them a different beer every year until we made this one and then we asked ourselves (probably out loud) (and also we probably asked The Weisstronauts now that I think about it) "why would we change it next year? This is perfect as is" and anyway that's why it keeps coming back
** One of the two members had to cancel last minute because of Reasons, but the remaining member was kind enough to step up!

In Which Anniversary Merch Arrives!

Oh hi there! We're just fabulous, how are you? Great! Well, we've got a buncha cool stuff lined up for you, so let's check it out, shall we?

And first on up is beer! It feels like we've gone at least three days without announcing a new beer around here, so here's some new beer! Around here! More to the point we're kickin' things off with Blood Lightning (brewed to pair with the sounds of Blood Lightning, who will be making their Bone Up debut at the anniversary party next month) which is a tasty ol' grisette that we dumped a whole buncha blood orange puree into and it definitely doesn't have that "blood red" coloration that you might hope (we thought about putting in a little hibiscus to add some color, but small amounts of hibiscus do weird things to color and also Jared forgot) but more importantly it's completely tasty as hell and it's on draft right now and you should come drink some!

And speaking of tasty beer that's on tap right now we've also got this year's collab with DnA's Evolution (who will be returning to the anniversary, as is their wont and because we want them to) and that's Enigma! And all we have to say here is that this beer is definitely not rebranded Double Key Lime and we definitely don't have a tequila barrel full of this so we can remake our most-requested barrel-aged beer again. That's just not the case, so I don't even know why you'd think that.

And while we're talkin' about the anniversary we should probably mention that our sweet anniversary merch is up for preorder! Right now! We've got t shirts and tank tops in two different colors (and the dark red ones are pretty friggin' cool but also the black ones with the multi-color art are pretty sick too and I guess you'll have to get at least one of each) and AND we've got this year's mugs!

And these particular mugs just so happen to hold an extra special place in our collective hearts on account of how we've been wanting to get these as anniversary mugs (or get them in any capacity, really) since pretty much forever on account of how that's Jared's favorite style of beer mug, only we haven't been able to - we couldn't afford them in the early days, and they've been impossible to get in more recent years (we even tried some moderately sketchy glassware suppliers, which among other things ended with us getting a bunch of Year Six mugs that we couldn't sell because they had ridiculous teeny-tiny logos but I digress) and anyway we FINALLY got them this year and they look cool as hell and Jared probably isn't gonna drink from anything else for, like, forever, so check 'em out!

And while we're on about anniversary-related beers/shenanigans, we've got some more anniversary-related shenanigans comin' up! On Friday we're hosting our monthly(ish) Band Hangouts and we thought it would be fun to invite a bunch of the anniversary bands and so we did that thing I just said! We've got Blood Lightning (whose beer just came out, which means this is the "release party" for their beer), Cortez (whose beer is coming out last of all the anniversary beers), Hobo Wizard (whose beer we're brewing next week), SkyTigers (I don't actually know when their beer is coming out), and Stryga (whose beer we just blended, so it'll be ready when we bottle it) and anyway the point is that we've got a whole buncha rad people who are in a whole buncha awesome bands and you should come hang out with them/us! AND if that weren't enough of an incentive, we've ALSO got LobzterKing in the house serving up some impossibly tasty food, so come on out!

And then on Saturday we're startin' the morning off with some Nine Inch Nails Yoga with Crystal and then we're gonna be "taking it easy" a bit once the sun starts doin' its thing because it's damn hot out and that means it's high time we cool out and cool off (with beers).

Anyway while we're gettin' on about cool stuff we should probably let you know that next Saturday we're hosting a pre-show for RPM fest right here at our very own brewery! It's an all-afternoon event (2-7 or so) and it is ticketed, so plan ahead and come rock the heck out with us!

In Which We Play "Kick the Keg"

Howdy friends! It's that special time again, so read on up and check out all the cool stuff we're doin'!

And first up on that ol' list would be beer, only we're kinda-sorta waitin' on a draft line in order to get all tappy happy on one of the several new beers we've got waitin' in the wings. So! If you'se wants to see some new stuff all up on draft, maybe you'se wants to help us kick summa the beers what we got on tap right now, see? More to the point, we're starting to run low on a couple things on draft (namely Supergroup, Cheeky Bastard, Fixation, and also Henrietta which I mentioned previously) (also we're still pretty well stocked on cans of most of the ones that we do have in cans, so if you kick them on tap they won't be completely gone yet, just gone for now) and anyway that's how you can help usher in the Great Tappening wherein our entire damn draft menu changes over pretty much at once, like it does sometimes.

But enough about all the beer that could be, let's get to the fun times that will be! And the fun times will be starting on Thursday with more Simpsons Trivia! The theme this time is "Season Six" because Chris says he can't come up with a clever theme every damn month and that's pretty reasonable considering how long he's been doing this but the point remains that it's gonna be fun, so come on out!

And then on Friday - assuming the weather holds up - we've got live music in the beer garden! This time around we've got the pop punk stylings of Another One Down and Kid Disaster (the latter of whom you may remember from previous Band Hangouts) AND we've got Lobzter King in the house dishin' up the tasty eats which means there's NO reason not to come hang with us!

And movin' on to Saturday we're keepin' the musical good times rollin' with our Musician's Marketplace! This one's geared towards all y'all who play music (though music enjoyers are certainly welcome and will probably also have a good time) - we're gettin' a buncha cool local vendors (specifically Falconer Guitars, Nomad Cabinets, CopperSound, Electronic Audio Experiments, and Fuzzrocious who will be showcasing guitars, cabinets, pedals, pedals, and pedals in that order) and they'll be settin' up shop and lettin' you test out their stuff and also we've got food from Black Tongue who I'm pretty sure is the first sloppy-joe-centric food popup I've heard of but also I'm definitely sure that rules so anyway come check that out too!

And while we're on about cool music stuff we should also mention that next Friday we've got another Band Hangouts happening and this one features a whole mess (like five) of the bands that are gonna be at our anniversary party next month, so come on out and say hi!

In Which We Make the Local News

Hello again! We hope you're doing well. It's once again Blog O'Clock and as you all know that means we're gearin' up to get down for good times galore, and we sure do hope you'll join us!

And first on up is this rad shoutout we* got in The Globe! Come to think of it, this may well be the first time in our sevenish years that The Globe has ever noticed us (except for maybe that covid scare in 2020? Unsure about that one) but we're not gonna dwell on that because it's still pretty cool and also that event was fun as hell!

Anyway, movin' right on to the real deal reason for the season to get out what this blog is all about we've got one or more new beers to announce! First up is Synhoptikon which is a tasty-ass West Coast (ish) IPA that - you guessed it - we brewed for our upcoming anniversary (it's next month! Technically!) and this one here was brewed in collaboration with a newcomer to our lil' ol' party: Major Stars! We actually discovered these cats at our Oktoberfuzz event last year, which was booked by the folks from Somergloom (which incidentally will be partly hosted here this year), only to find out that several of the band members have been frequenting our taproom for quite some time and while it is honestly kind of weird to see a new-to-you band and realize that you know half the people on stage, their music just so happens to be rad as hell (which is why they were invited to the anniversary) and anyway the beer is available on draft and in cans right now and you should drink some!

And speaking of new beer, we've got another new beer! This one's another anniversary beer and it's this year's beer for The Guilloteenagers! This time aroiund we made them a dry stout that's creatively titled This Is A Guilloteenagers Beer (they win this year's award for Largest Number of Unusable Beer Names) and man is that beer definitely not Blood Built. More to the point, it is completely tasty as hell and it's the perfect beach beer even if nobody belives me (dark beer doesn't get light struck, it gets better as it warms, and it's low enough ABV that you won't get too tipsy and pass out in the sun) and it's available in cans right now so come get some!

And then movin' to the fun times we've got lined up for the week (and beyond!) we're kickin' things off on Thursday with some Warped Tour Throwback Trivia! So if you wanna relive the good ol' days (JNCOs optional but encouraged) and maybe win some stupid prizes while you're at it, come on out!

And then on Friday we've got more live music! This one's another solo acoustic set - specifically the likes of T. Bloodhound - so it's gonna be pretty low-key but also you know that we're still meticulous about making sure we're bringin' in the kinds of artists that y'all will enjoy** which means it's gonna be a fun time and you should come hang!

And speaking of music-themed events, we've got several music-themed events on Saturday! The day starts off early with Riot Grrl Yoga with Crystal and then in the afternoon we've got a bunch of live music featuring The Chelsea Curve, Duck and Cover, and Stars Like Ours! PLUS we've got Craic Mac & Cheese poppin' up here for the first time (unless it isn't? It probably is) and anyway that all means you've got no reason not to swing by on Saturday, so swing by on Saturday!

Then next Thursday we've got July's Simpsons Trivia and the theme is Season Six! Honestly, we'll take any excuse we can to revisit S6 of The Simpsons and we might even break our own "no studying" rule to do so! Then next Friday we've got even more live music and this time it's pop punk themed with Another One Down and Kid Disaster! And lastly next Saturday we're kinda goin' in the other direction with the music stuff and that's the Musician's Marketplace! We're gonna have a buncha vendors swing by - namely Nomad Cabinets and Falconer Guitars and CopperSound Pedals and Electronic Audio Experiments and Fuzzrocious Pedals - and they'll all have a buncha stuff for you to try and/or buy and it was a hella good time last time we did something like this (at least one impromptu jam session started itself) so come play some tunes with us!

Oh! And! Lastly! We've got the winners of June's coloring contest! June had some extremely adequate work from pretty much everybody who submitted, which made it an extra-hard month to decide, but decide we did and here's the winner and the runners-up!

* Well, it's mostly USAG getting the shoutout, but it's still cool!
** Usually when we see one dude with an acoustic guitar we assume he's gonna be playing, like, renditions of DMB songs (or whatever radio rock was popular when he was in high school) that are somehow worse than the originals. Usually we're right, but that's not how we do things around here.
