Well hello again. Gather 'round and grab a fresh cask pour o' Bullhead as I tell you tales of snacks and snacking!

​That's right. Bullhead, our surprisingly-well-loved-for-a-style-we-made-up beer for all occasions is gonna be served up on cask (dry hopped with an extra handful of Rakau, just for you) this Thursday! And if it's anywhere near as tasty as our last cask (which, if you'll recall, was Black Witow with oak chips that had been aged in Short Path Triple Sec*), it'll disappear before you/we know it - so in the event that you needed an excuse to drink beer and eat pizza on a Thursday,** we've got you covered!

We've got it on good authority there will be an extra special pizza pairing to match our cask this week as well! We gettin' fancy. 

And speaking of things we've all** been waiting for: Black Witow is comin' up on cask this week! And to goose things into high gear for such an auspicious occasion, we*** had the bright idea to toss in some oak chips to add summa dat subtle complexity we been hearin' about. But these ain't no ordinary everyday runnathemill oak chips, no sir. We gave them a good long soak in some Triple Sec from our Neighbors over at Short Path Distillery before crammin' them into that cask. So come on out this Thursday and see what that all tastes like!

And speaking of outside, we're throwin' a sunny shindig with the City of Everett this Saturday! Following their annual citywide spring clean-up, our parking lot will play host to a free outdoor concert and lunch from one 'til two. This ain't gonna be a permanent thing for us, but we will be roping off about half of our parking lot for some good ol' outdoor drinking starting at noon sharp on Saturday (and if you're extra special good, we'll keep that al fresco train rollin' throughout the day, albeit in a slightly reduced capacity).

​And while the beer-centric part of this is indeed open to the public, this whole thing got started For A Good Cause, so we encourage you to go volunteer at the cleanup! It'll make your beer taste that much better! To pre-register, or for more information, check out this here link!

Since booze is our muse and we're here for beer, we are just as chuffed as can be to announce that we're bringin' back an old favorite! Just in time for that warm weather that showed up out of nowhere (and which will probably disappear without a trace for two more weeks), we got Bullhead back on tap! This version is a lil' different than the last one, as it's made with with grains from our new malt friends over at Two Track Malting! Their whole bag is transparency and traceability in the supply chain (which means we can track each bag of malt back to the specific field it was grown in, should we so desire), and we thought that was neat so we ordered up a lil' ol' sample* and then realized that we didn't actually have any plans on how to use it. But! We'd used Bullhead to test the mettle of some maltsters before (and they passed with flying colors, to the extent that we couldn't stop thinking about it), so it's back!

And hot on the heels of that release, spurred by something we did more or less by accident last week, we're gonna have us a Fancy Pizza Friday, including our very own special pizza just for this ol' beer release!

In fact, it's going to be quite the food-filled weekend: on Saturday, staff favorite Miguel's Empanadas descends upon the taproom once again to bring us their crispy lil' bites of goodness! From 2-8pm, grab yourself a beef empanada (or four) marinated in either Key Lime or Shut Up Kelly!, dump some fresh aji salsa on that bad boy, and just have yourself an afternoon. On Sunday, we've got Union Square Donuts in the house starting at noon! We'll have several flavors of donuts in an inconspicuous box in the corner. Tell 'em Horatio sent you and we'll get you the goods. 

While that is a bummer, we do have exciting Shut Up-related news! We ordered some sweet new t-shirts for springtime and they arrived late last week bearing none other than our new Shut Up Kelly! logo. They're available in the taproom and in our online shop, check 'em out:

Howdy howdy howdy! We did some things and we're about to do some more things and I'm here to tell you about all of it!

Most importantly and at the forefront of everybody's mind: we picked winners for the March coloring contest! We had a number of extremely adequate entries last month,* which made it harder than usual to decide, so first place ended up being a tie between previous winner (and perpetual runner-up) Victor and relative newcomer Hanna! The two of y'all best come on down to claim your prizes and/or have some sort of slap fight to determine the real winner.
