But first! We'd like to thank everybody who came out for our first-ever Record Store Day (and especially the Swifties who started waiting in line at 8AM, y'all don't mess around!) - we're pretty new to the record store community and it was downright heartwarming to see so many of y'all come out!
And speaking of record-store-related events, the band Yo La Tengo is apparently really into supporting small/local record shops, so as a result of us having a small record shop in our taproom, we've got tickets (real, physical, paper tickets) on sale for their upcoming local shows! The shows themselves are June 18th and 19th at The Paradise and tickets are $30 each, so come grab one!

Anyway, movin' on into the here and/or now, we're kickin' things off strong with yet another Expansion Update and whoo-ee is it a doozy! There's really no beating around the bush on this one, especially since several of you have probably definitely already noticed: we've got fewer walls now (this is a good thing)! And sure, it would have been nice to know in advance that the walls were coming down (we found out when our landlord's contractor stuck his head through a newly-created hole in the wall and asked if we could move the stuff on our side of the wall, because said wall was about to come down), but progress is progress and we're accustomed to taking what we can get on that front.
Anyway, the development of real, actual, tangible progress always raises the question of "is it close to done yet" (and/or the related question of "do you know when it will be done") and the answer is no! Of course not! Why would it be? But seriously, there's still a bunch of stuff to be done in terms of buildout, and most of it needs to be done by people who are, like, "witness protection program" levels of difficult to reach (including the building's plumber, who recently completed his quarterly half-day of work on our space, which means the fixtures will remain half-installed until mid summer). Anyway, there's also the fact that we can't even start the lengthy permitting processes (federal, state, and town are all separate processes that can't happen simultaneously for some reason) until all the aforementioned work is done (and inspected, which can take months in and of itself), but the point is that things are moving again!*
And moving on from that exciting-yet-frustrating news to news that was about to be just regular frustrating until we managed to save things in the nick of time (the beer engine was broken and none of us - least of all Jared - thought Jared would be able to fix it, but he did!) and anyway the point is that we'll be tappin' a cask on Thursday just like always and this week the cask is gonna be Fixation On Red Ale (which we're rereleasing on Saturday, but we haven't gotten there yet) and anyway we're servin' this sucker up straight-up and it's gonna be tasty as heck and you should drink some!
And moving from (almost) bummer news to (wishing for) summer news, we've got another new beer out! This one is called Patio Weather and it's a light 'n hoppy lil' session that's perfect for sippin' while you're relaxing outside and enjoying the "warm" (50 degree) weather and pretending like you can totally start wearing shorts already and anyway it's on draft right now and you should drink some!
And speaking of beer, we've got another dang beer release! This one's a beer we brewed as a one-off** about a year ago and we've gotten a whole buncha questions about it and/or requests to bring it back and anyway starting on Saturday we'll have Fixation on Red Ale back on draft and in cans! In cased you missed this one the first time around, it's a red ale (duh) that we brewed as a collab with our friends in The Red Chord, and it was originally brewed for the Decibel Beer and Metal Fest last year but we ain't immune to "popular demand"*** and now it's back! And the release just so happens to coincide with the Band Hangouts that we're doin' with The Red Chord, but we'll get to that in a minute.

They're perfect for adding to your Cool Guy Heavy Metal Vest or for putting over rips and tears in your non-heavy-metal clothing or for adding flair to any of the fabrics in your life (hoodies, hats, bedsheets, car headrests, the list is endless!) so come grab some!
And in even more merch-related news, we've got new Shut Up Kelly shirts! We felt like the old design needed a bit of a "refresh" so we did some small printing runs of a couple new designs and honestly they're both rad as hell, so check 'em out!
Movin' on to Fun Times, we've got lots of fun times lined up for you this week and we're kickin' off the weekend on Thursday with our Monthly Comedy Showcase which will definitely not be impacted by the fact that most of the walls in that room are now actually just curtains. Anyway it's been a damn hoot every time we've held this event, so come on out and getcha some comedy!
And then on Friday we don't have any big events going on, but we do have Sekali in the house and that qualifies as an event in its own right (on account of their food is very very good and also they're super nice), so come snack with us!
Then on Saturday we've got Adriano's Tacos joining us for the afternoon and we've got Band Hangouts in the evening! (There will be some overlap between the two.) For the Band Hangs this month - which feature The Red Chord, Brain Famine, Bonginator, and Blood Tithe - we've decided to "mix things up" in a variety of ways, and one of those ways is that two of the guys from The Red Chord (specifically Greg and Gunface) wanted to host their own trivia night and despite being told by several people that doing so would be "a mistake," we decided to go for it! Anyway we're gonna have all the normal Band Hangout stuff (bands, hanging out, you know the drill) and also Obnoxious Trivia or whatever they're calling it AND we're rereleasing Fixation On Red Ale AND there's gonna be tacos, so you should swing by on Saturday!

Following up on the successful fun times we had at the last Rock Band Night, we're havin' another Rock Band Night next Wednesday (5/3) so brush up on your fake guitar skills and come join us! Then next Thursday (5/4) is the next installment of Audio Triviality (our music-themed trivia night) and the theme is "Rock 'n Weird" which is a kinda vague theme, but Matt's good at weird so it's guaranteed to be a fun time and you should come out! And then next Saturday (5/6) we've got our Spring Bazaar featuring some cool local vendors (Nubble Light Candles, Atlas Moon Art, and Bali Marle) plus our FIRST dang ol' outdoor live music of the season (featuring DnA’s Evolution, Thrust Club, and Radio Compass) AND the rerelease of our much-anticipated summer seasonal and anyway it's gonna be a good time and you should come hang with us!
* And we're only two months past the (most recent) time when they told us it would be done in "two weeks!" That's record time for these guys.
