It's once again our second favorite weekday, which means it's blog time!
Now that we've weathered the Great Blizzard of '17,* we're settling into the realization that this time of year kind of sucks every year, so we might as well make the most of it! And make the most of it we shall, for we have Fun Things Planned for just about every dang weekend this month!
But first, in keeping with our stated theme for 2017 (which, if you've forgotten, is "More. More! More of Everthang!"), we've got some new draft lines! Admittedly, only one of them will be in service in the immediate future, but that means we'll have nine** friggin' beers on tap - right in time for the upcoming block party this Friday!

What block party, you ask? Why none other than the Fermentation DIstrict's Winter Expedition Block Party! Around these parts we're havin' a new beer release and smores-related treats and a burger truck and just ever so much fun, so come on by!

Speaking of fun things (and when are we not speaking of fun things these days), we're startin' to get some stiff competition for this month's coloring contest! Things are heatin' up enough that we had to start a second display wall (we've got 26 entries and counting), but you've got until the end of the month to submit, so come on by and get your crayon on!
Our current favorite is the nine-month-old that took the contest in a totally new direction by eating part of her entry. Well done...?
And, since it turns out people generally like eating (who knew?), we're gonna have more food available in the taproom! We've got soft pretzels on Saturdays in addition to Sundays, and we've got food popups galore in the coming weeks! First up is Miguel's Empanadas on Friday the 20th, which coincides nicely with the BeerAdvocate Throwdown! It's almost like we planned this (we did not).

For all the other delicious things we did plan (waffles, pierogi, pretzels, cookies, falafel, and more!), either swing through our home page every so often (we put more stuff on there! Go give it your lookats!), or keep tabs on our Facebook events page.
And speaking of events, we're hittin' somethin' of a milestone 'round these parts: we brewed Batch Number Fifty this week! To commemorate this occasion, we decided to pay homage to our very first batch, Honey 'n Hops! We took the same idea, gave it an imperial spin, and brewed up a big ol' aromatic IPA with some honey all up in. Keep an eye out for The Monarch on draft in a few weeks!
* Which gave a lot of you a convenient excuse to not even try at your new years resolutions, so it did do some good.
