Big News! And It Isn't Entirely About Hot Sauce This Time!

Hello today! We bring you tidings of good times to come: we got snacks, we got casks, we got a new beer, we got food friends swingin' through, and we've got news about some good times for you!

Nearest on the horizon is the weekly cask lineup! We're mixin' it up this week and havin' two different beers rev up that beer engine of ours! 

First up, on Thursday we're bustin' out some Extra Naked whose visage has been graced with a small sack o' Vojvodina (which, if you'll recall, is the lone hop in Voyager)! And after a weekend chock full o' pensive reflection* on this new-to-us hop, the only real conclusion we reached is that it's a peculiar (yet tasty) lil' hop and we're glad we got to know it better! So if you're lookin' to get better acquainted and/or see what kinds of havoc** it'll wreak on our humble lil' cream ale, come on by!

And for the second cask, this Saturday we're servin' up some Wasted Life that's been bolstered with a bag o' comet! For those of you who may be unfamiliar with comet (which, incidentally, is a favorite around here), it's an old-school hop that's known for its "wild American" characteristics, owing to its indigenous heritage (unlike many other hops, which are bred from European stock). It's got some pretty long lineage (it was popular around the same time as cluster, for which we're known to have an affinity) and it offers up a bunch of punchy Classic American hop goodness with a little twist you're sure to savor!

But bringin' us back to Thursday, we're also releasing Ruby Rye this weekend! It's an oasis of dark(ish) yet easy-drinkin' beer that's standing strong and swimming against the onrushing tide of super light beach beers. We've only had a little time to get to know Ruby, but she's already got a reputation for keepin' us bendin' at the elbow and/or staring longingly at a glass that seemed to empty itself all too quickly. ​

And not just because Jared spilled his all over the floor (he was just so excited)

Then on Friday we're once again steppin' up our Hot Sauce Game! This time around we're bringin' in local capsaicin powerhouse: Alex's Ugly Sauce! So come on by and beat the heat the old fashioned way: by eating so much spicy stuff you can't feel your mouth! We'll arm you with teeny tiny cups and fistfuls of oyster crackers and pretzels so you can try flights of their Anaheim, Jalapeno, Cayano, Original, Dragon, and Habanero hot sauces, and if you're feelin' extra sadistic, Ghost and Screaper!

We even convinced Alex himself to write up tasting notes for each sauce, and it's some right proper quality reading while you fiendishly sample his wares.

Anyway, enough about all the tasty beers and delicious snacks and fun times we'll have this weekend - we gotta tell you some maddeningly vague details about tasty beers and delicious snacks and fun times we're gonna have in several months! Thassright - our taproom turns One Years Old at the end of August (the 26th, to be specific), and we're havin' ourselves a shindig! There'll be outdoor drinkin' and grilled meats and ice cream and we've got some Instro-tainment lined up for your listenin' pleasure! Good times will be had by all, so we suggest you keep your calendar clear for the last Saturday in August! Woo, et cetera.
