In Which We Get Kafkaesque

Howdy friends! All aboard the Fun Times Express! Choo choo!

And our first stop is Mystery Shack, a mysterious new IPA that's probably coming out on Thursday afternoon unless it doesn't. And what, praytell, makes this beer so alluringly full of mystery? It's the hops. The hops are what make it mysterious. 

More to the point, we have a big ol' bag of hops that slowly gets filled with odds and ends over the course of lots of brewdays (kind of like if you put the coins from your pocket into a jar at the end of the day instead of spending it. Or at least it would be like that if anybody used cash anymore), and when that bag o' misfit hops fills up, we brew a beer with it and soon you'll get to have some!

Movin' right on down the line, this Friday we're doin' a (virtual) Galentine's shindig! We'll be gettin' all up on some Zoom times and drinkin' beer and/or talkin' about beer and then there's gonna be some Galentine's trivia and it's worth mentioning that we're doing this event to support Boston GLOW (and also they'll be providing the trivia), so come (virtually) drink with us for a good cause!

And speaking of words that end with "-entines," we teamed up with our pals at Donut Villa Diner for some Valentine's Day sweet treats on Sunday! There's a whole buncha mix-n-match options to choose from, but if you really wanna go all out (and we of course suggest that you should because you earned it), you can get a bouquet of mini donuts and our made-to-be-blended pair of beers: It's Like We Finish Each Other's... ...Sandwiches! and since those beers are made with raspberry and chocolate, respectively, we also encourage you to add on our barrel-aged raspberry-and-chocolate farmhouse and anyway the point is that you can (and should!) get all the treats for Valentine's Day! Oh and also we'll be doing a (virtual) tasting of all them beers and probably a bunch of the donuts on Sunday afternoon, and you should come join us!

Lastly, a bit farther into the future (starting in about two weeks) is our next made-up holiday: Kafka Day! This holiday was originally celebrated in honor of the weird, nightmarish, borderline-surreal ordeal that we had to go through when finalizing/opening our brewery's expansion several years ago (with a particularly pointed nod towards our local government, though they certainly didn't notice). And then the year after that, we got to have another months-long existential crisis, only this time there was even less reason for it, but we got through it and celebrated the same damn holiday for the same damn reason, the second damn year in a row! And then pretty much right after that, the rest of the world caught up to us on the whole "surrealist hellscape" bit, and now nobody even bats an eye if we say that our made-up annual holiday is "existential terror themed." 

Anyway, since this is Kafka Day, we've decided that the "holiday" is actually gonna take place over the course of two different weekends, and the first weekend is the 26th! We'll be kickin' things off with a super-intimate* vertical tasting of several El Pulpo vintages, followed up with a beer and Girl Scout Cookie pairing! Then the following week (the week of the 5th) we're partnerin' back up with our friends from Brato for another tasty-ass beer dinner and then the day after that we're gonna eat even more Girl Scout Cookies, because we can, and it's gonna be heaps of fun and you should come join us!
