Hello friends! The past week has been More Of The Same around these parts (and, man, we did not think we'd ever be so happy to be reporting that): our first beer - Honey 'n' Hops - is in kegs and just about ready to be unleashed upon the world!* We still ain't sayin' where it'll first be available, so if you're hankerin' for the first sip o' them suds you'd be advised to keep a half an eye on our various social medias. Here we go! The first of many delicious things we'll be bringin' your way. And what's more, we brewed up the third of our inaugural one-off batches: Black Witow! For those "not in the know" or possibly "too lazy to click that link": Black Witow is a light-bodied easy-drinkin' black wheat ale brewed with our Proprietary Spice Blend.** We know that dark beers aren't exactly "all the rage" these days, but we happen to be particularly partial to 'em every now and again, and this one has a tendency to disappear from our glasses mighty quick whenever we have it around (besides, it's always nice to take a periodic break from hops on hops on hops). This guy is tangy, citrusy, and goes down ever so smoothly. And don't let the color fool you: Black Witow is a surprisingly fitting warm weather beer. In other words, we love the heck out of it and we're excited to share it with you! A mash darker than the depths of space, threatening to consume you every time the paddle goes 'round. Hoo boy did that bag of ingredients smell good! Check out that sparge action! (Going to file that one under "we're not sure if you care about this but we think it's hella cool.") On a somewhat less positive note (and to answer the question we get asked most frequently), our taproom opening is still being held back as we wait on construction outside our building - railings need to get put on the loading dock, drains need to get put in the lot, and everything needs to get repaved. We've been told that it will take "about a month," but we're hearing that from somebody who tends to be... optimistic about completion times, so we'll see. But if we're lucky, we'll be swingin' our doors open in July so y'all can do some of that sweet, sweet summer drinkin' at our digs. Good times! Soon! * It's been difficult to suppress our instinct to just drink all of it; the sheer volume of beer we made is currently our saving grace.
