And as we mentioned last week, we've got an upcoming hearing at city hall to determine whether or not we can get our pouring permit (which, if you're just now joining us, will allow us to serve pints in our taproom instead of just staring wistfully at a bunch of largely-unused bar space), and we would be just thrilled to pieces if any of y'all felt like coming out to support us! The hearing is on Monday, January 25th at 6:30 PM in Everett City Hall, 2nd floor, room 29.
- The committee will call on the two of us to stand up and they will probably ask a bunch of questions that we hadn't anticipated. This is primarily done to show everybody how bad we are at public speaking (very).
- Next, the committee will ask if anyone attending is in favor of getting this permit approved - this is your time to shine (should you show up, of course). They'll probably just take down your name and address, but there's a possibility they'll ask why you're in favor of having this permit issued (more on this in a second).
- You probably don't need to be an Everett resident to vote in favor of our pouring permit, but it certainly helps (we're guessing that the town is mostly interested in hearing from its own residents).
- After people speak in favor of the permit being issued, people who are opposed to it will be given a chance to say their piece. We will not have any way to respond to or address the concerns voiced by these people (but it's our experience that people's biggest worries are noise levels and parking).
Those are just suggestions, of course, so feel free to disregard as you see fit. But if you do come out, make sure to say hi and/or introduce yourself, we'd love to meet you!
**And the one before that, which stemmed from a different production delay, and... well, it's turtles all the way down.
***Because enjoying some pints over the course of a weekend afternoon is rarely a bad idea.
