*** We also don't have air conditioning anywhere else
Howdy friends! We've got a whole gaggle of good times lined up for all y'all so we ain't gonna waste no time gabbin' on - we gotta get to it! And then we're gonna go drink some Bone Up at the Sinclair! And first up on that ol' list is a newly-announced collab beer!* You may recall us recently announcing that we'd be participating in the Decibel Magazine Beer and Metal Fest, and you may also remember us teasing that there was a collab in the works for the fest, and anyway we'll be making a beer with/for The Red Chord! We're brewing up a red ale (which seems kind of obvious, but that'll also cut down on the number of times we get told "you guys should have brewed a red ale," which would happen approximately 5,000 times if we didn't make a red ale) and it's not gonna be out for a little while yet (the fest is in June) but we're nevertheless stoked as heck about it! Our brainstorming session with the band had a very special kind of energy And speaking of cool collabs, we're releasing a different cool collab beer at the end of the month! This time around we took No Light Ever (our collab beer with the band Glacier) and aged it in Summer Reserve barrels and it's coming out on Friday March 25th! You may have gotten a "sneak peek" at this beer if you came by for Kafka Day, and also you may have seen us shouting about it on the social medias on/around Kafka Day, but whatever, it's super tasty And since we're right stoked about that ol' beer release, we figured we'd take the opportunity to give it a proper release party (just like a real brewery!) and we figured it would be cool to have Glacier come hang out and we could listen to some of their music (on the taproom speakers, we don't have the space or the equipment to have them do a show) and we invited a couple other cool local bands (Lesser Glow and SEA) and they're also gonna come hang out and it's gonna be a great time and you should come hang out! This is the first of what we hope to be a monthly series of "band hangouts" with our collab peeps at the brewery! But getting a bit closer to the here and/or now and also back to delicious beers we drank on Kafka Day, we should probably give you the deets on the funky beer we released for Kafka Day and that's The Great Miscellaneous! This funky lil' treat is a blend of a buncha stuff that we had kickin' around in barrels for a while (average aging time is well over a year) and it's on tap and in bottles right now and you should drink some! It's tart and peachy and ever-so-drinkable! And moving on into the very near future, this Thursday we'll be tappin' another cask! This time we're revvin' the beer engine with one of our favorite beers (and one which happens to be otherwise sold out at the moment): Extra Naked! And since we like to dump a buncha hops in our casks, we dumped a buncha hops in it! For this particular cask we went with Triple Pearl - a relatively new-to-us hop that brings a lot of orangey flavors, backed by a solid earthiness and anyway it's fast becoming a favorite hop around here and it's gonna go real well with Extra Naked but you certainly ain't gotta take my word for it because you can come try it for your dang self! CAAAAAAASSSSSKKKKKK And if you're lookin' for something to do while you sip on that delicious-ass cask, we might humbly suggest that you join us for Simpsons Trivia this Thursday! We're startin' to get into some of the best parts of the show at this point (the theme is Season Three) and there'll be good times and friendship and silly prizes and all that fun stuff, so come on out! At the very least you'll be able to heckle Chris And then for the weekend (specifically Friday and Saturday) we're bringin' back our famous** Beer and Girl Scout Cookie Pairings! We did the legwork and came up with the perfect cookie pairings for all the beers on tap and soon you'll get to grab a flight and reap the benefits of our hard work! Do not miss barreled El Pulpo and the French toast cookies. It's the best thing I've eaten in 2022 thus far And since a weekend fulla sweets needs a bit of savory, we've got Biscuitdrop comin' by on Saturday afternoon! Their food is so good, you guys. There's really no other way to phrase it, it's just completely tasty as hell and you should probably come have some! GIVE ME BISCUITS Oh, and in case you "missed the memo" about our regular sushi classes on Wednesdays and Sundays (and it's unlikely that you missed that memo since we mention it every week), we've got regular sushi classes on Wednesdays and Sundays! Everyone that takes them has a great time and also the clock is kind of ticking on signing up for a class since we don't have air conditioning in that room*** (and you don't want to be making sushi with 20 strangers in a ninety degree smallish room) so if you've been thinking about signing up, now's the time! Plus the more people that sign up the more sample sushi Chef Harold makes and the more sample sushi leftovers we get everything is fine we're not addicted nothing to see here Oh! And! We are looking for some lovely folks to join our bartending team! We have full time and part time positions available starting in late March/early April, so if you like beer and have a sunny disposition shoot us (Liz and Jared) an email at [email protected] with your resume, a few sentences about yourself, and why you’d like to work for our humble lil' brewery! * We've actually got a whole bunch of cool collab beers in the works, this one just happens to be both big and recently-announced.
