Hello again! It's time for more fun facts & fables from your favorite suds-slingin', servomyces-sustainin' set o' spouses!* First and foremost, we'd like to thank our gracious hosts over at Social Wines for having us in for a tasting (which was, not coincidentally, the first public unveiling of Key Lime White Ale) this past Saturday!

Things went quite well, if we do say so ourselves (not that we'd expect any less from a classy establishment such as that) - we sampled some samples, we met some hella great people,** and - most importantly (to us) - everybody really seemed to enjoy the beers! This was the first time that anybody other than us got to try the first of our Year Round Beers, and we are just the most excited that people like drinking it.***
Now, if you missed out this past weekend, don't fret! In addition to Social Wines, we restocked the coolers of City Liquors, Kappy's, Giles, Busa, and Wine Press over the last couple days with fresh growlers of Key Lime (plus, Warehouse, Black Witow, and Bone Smasher)! I'll admit that we weren't entirely anticipating the popularity of growlers in beer/liquor stores, but we're For It.
Meanwhile, in news of things that pretty much nobody but us cares about (I'd put a link here, but honestly just about any blog post from prior to April of this year fits that description), our bar footrails are in!
And it's kind of shocking how much of a difference they make.
It's not something that we viewed as "strictly necessary," especially because lately we've been focusing our attention on frivolous things such as "brewing tasty beer" and "fretting about yeast." But we got tired of having nothing to rest our feet on while drinking (who are we, hobos?), so we decided to Take the Plunge... and call Jared's dad and ask him to help us.**** And I gotta tell ya - the bar has never been more comfortable to sit at! Plus, now we no longer have to trip over a pile of gigantic oak beams every time we walk through the room, which is nice.
And as an added treat (for us, anyway), our new friend Phil came out during our most recent brewday to take a few photos! Good times were had by all, and oh man do those pictures look good! We are, as you might expect, pretty used to what the brewery looks like (both in-person and in our hastily-snapped phone pictures) but seeing it as depicted by somebody with actual photography skill (and equipment) was like seeing the place with fresh eyes. Check it out!
* Spice? I feel like there's no good way to pluralize that word.
** We'd like to extend a special Thank You to those of you who came out for the express purpose of trying our beer! That is - to be perfectly honest - incredibly flattering.
*** I realize how that might sound weird, since we like the beer (we wouldn't sell it if we didn't), but it's a surprisingly humbling/nerve-wracking experience unelashing a new beer into the Drinking Public.
**** To be fair, he did build the damn thing, so it's only fitting that he was the one to put in the Final Piece. And also we're still kind of bad at woodworking when we don't have Adult Supervision.
