Well hey there! Welcome back to our blog! We've got a whole buncha cool stuff for you this week including new beers and fun times and tasty treats and all that, so let's get to it! And speaking of beer (which we might have been?) last week (just after blog o'clock, as luck would have it) we released a new beer! It's an IPA named Pizza Time! and it features some of our favoritest, fruitiest hops we've found as of late (namely MI Copper and BRU-1, which have popped up in other beers on our menu here and there) and it's available on draft and in crowlers right now! Come drink some! Sometimes you just need to celebrate the simple things in life, like pizza And while we're on about delicious things that you should drink, we'd be remiss if we didn't mention cask! Yessiree, this Thursday we're tappin' up a cask of relatively-new-to-us Chaotic Gold! And since we like to "spice things up" when it comes to hoppy beers on cask, we "remixed" this beer with a heapin' helpin' of a totally different hop (namely Triple Pearl) and it's gonna be tasty as heck! Cask returns after a one week hiatus and several bemused "Contact Form" entries Speaking of Thursday, this Thursday is the (belated) return of Simpsons Trivia! This time around the questions will focus on Season One (bet you can't guess what next month's theme is) and that's a pretty short season (which is probably for the best, given the fact that the show very much hadn't found its groove yet) which means you've still got time to study up! And even if you don't it'll still be a fun time, so come on out! wE hAvE nEw AnD hOrRiBlE pRiZeS And while we're talkin' trivia, we've got another trivia night next Thursday (the 3rd)! This one's the February installment of Audio Triviality and Matt's gonna be settin' the spotlight on Metallica! This one's gonna be a good time and we (as in, "we, the authors of this blog, who compete in trivia under the team name The Management") are definitely ready for it because we didn't learn everything we know about Metallica from that pinball machine we used to have in the taproom,* that's for sure. Anyway it's gonna be fun and you should come! This trivia night appears to have garnered some interest on the ol' Metabook or whatever, in which a user has started asking their own set of questions (such as "what year did Metallica start to suck?"), then answering them in the same comments. P.S. He thinks it's 1991; your humble editor won't acknowledge anything after Master of Puppets. Anyway. Settin' our sights back on this coming weekend, we've got a buncha tasty treats lined up for you! On Friday we have Sandwich Boy in the house slingin' delectable-ass fried chicken sandwiches and then on Saturday we've got The 'Nada Cart hangin' out with some tasty fried treats, and then on Sunday we've got the return of sushi classes with Chef Harold! Anyway my point is that the snowstorm this weekend probably won't be that bad and anyway you won't even notice it if you sit in the part of the bar that doesn't have windows (and if you do sit in the windowed area, you get to laugh at people who are currently outside) so you should come hang out! And! Lastly! We wanted to give a brief shoutout to some fun times from the recent past! For those of you who are fans of Unchained (our recent can release), you may be chuffed to know that Attest (the band that we collaborated with to make that beer) is currently playing shows and we got to go to one and it was really fun! The venue didn't have any Unchained (which was a bummer, but also understandable - we kinda didn't expect their beer buyer to base purchasing decisions off of bands playing the early show on a Monday) and our "photographer for the day" didn't get any pictures with the band (it was Jared and he's apparently a weird old man who is incapable of taking pictures that don't have his thumb over the lens) but it was a swell time nonetheless! Anyway the point is that you should support local bands and local venues (if you can, and if you feel safe doing so, of course) and also if you know the beer buyers at said venues you should probably badger them into carrying our beer. *Remember when it would play "Last Christmas" by Wham every time you got multiball and it would really weird some people out? Good times.
