In Which the Beautifully Painful World of Hot Sauce is Revealed to Us

Oh hi there! How are you? We're great, thanks - things have been going swimmingly these days: this month's coloring contest already has a stack of entries, contributions to Hot Sauce Nation are so numerous they need to be carried around in a crate, and we got a handful o' casks* conditioning away! ​

Waaaarrrriiiioooorrrrrssss, come out and plaaaayyyy! Or at least doodle up our new colorin' page!

On top of all that, we've got new beers in the pipeline for you! We had a whole bunch o' inconveniently-sized bags of miscellaneous hops (a few ounces here, a partial pound there) and we got tired of counting them in our inventory every month so we took that mishmash o' hops and flung 'em everywhere we could think of (in the kettle, in the fermentor, in the air ducts. Wherever) and then dumped a bunch of other shit in there (as in, all those other ingredients that are supposed to go into a beer) and called it a day (well, we also called it Green Smoothie). The end result is a party for your tastebuds as all them hop flavors vie for your attention: citrusy, earthy, piney, herbal, pithy notes of stonefruit, the works. Come drink it this weekend (or next weekend as you try and stay as far away from Southie as possible)! Voila, etc!

We couldn't recreate this beer if we wanted to, so come and enjoy this aromatic shitshow while it's here!

And as if that ain't enough hops for ya, here's an extra nugget of feel goods: for International Women's Day (which happens to be today), Jimbo got asked by the the Pink Boots Society (a global organization for lady brewers everywhere!) to participate in this year's Big Boots Brew! She'll be riffin' off the given recipe to create a tasty lil' hoppy wheat all her own. On tap towards the end of the month!

And! And! We're expanding our cold snack selection to include some delightful snackables from Cauldron Fermented Foods! These guys have been making the porter mustard for our soft pretzels since day one, and their dilly beans will make some top notch bar snacks! To celebrate the introduction of their eats to our taproom, the fine folks from Cauldron are swingin' through our taproom this Saturday with a whole host o' fermented foods for you to try!

And if you can't wait that long to drink our beer and/or eat some things, we'll be at ONCE/Cuisine En Locale for that taco party tomorrow (we believe the event is sold out, so if you grabbed a ticket in time, we'll see you there)!

Lastly but not leastly, we bring you some eagerly-awaited** Updates From The Production Floor: we've learned to navigate around our new tanks whilst sustaining only minor injuries, but they're still not in service yet. The building's electrician told us that things would be put in motion on "Monday," which sounds... sadly familiar.*** But that's okay!**** We got plenty of other stuff to keep ourselves busy in the meantime, so we gon' keep on keepin' on!

Specifically, we'll keep on staring into the shiny stainless abyss, clutching the bruises we got on our hips from walking into those sample valves all the damn time
