Howdy-ho, kiddos and squiddos! We've got some new beers and some fun times and some fun beers and some new times and... wait. Forget that last part. Just... just read on to hear about all the cool stuff we've got coming up. You've read blogs before, you probably know how this works.
And first on up we've got a new beer that's comin' out this Friday! This time around it's No Light Ever, a beer we made in collaboration with Glacier, who said that - in the spirit of their music - they thought the beer should be "dark and unappealing to most." And since that's practically one of our beermaking mantras (which definitely doesn't ever raise any questions along the lines of "how are you still in business?"), we jumped at the chance to brew up a big ol' imperial stout and soon you'll get to try it!
And as a little "icing on the cake," Glacier wanted to add a charity element to this beer, so later this month we're doin' a virtual event with them and there's gonna be trivia and swag (both from us and from Glacier) and that's gonna be on Friday the 26th and you should come hang out (tickets will be available starting on Friday)!

Movin' right along back to this Friday, we've got another new beer comin' out! This one is, um, pretty dark and probably... won't appeal to most? But all that means is that we're right jazzed about it and in this case "it" is Ol' Orange Eyes! We took a big ol' smoky strong ale and aged it in Summer Reserve barrels (from our friends over at Short Path Distilling) and the barrel added a buncha fruitiness (which tamped down the smoke character to more of a "light smolder" if we're being honest) and oh man is it good!
And speaking of this Friday, this weekend marks the second part of Kafka Day and we're startin' off with a bang on Friday with a brand new beer dinner! This time around we told our pals at Brato that the theme was "unlikely pairings" and then pretty much refused to offer any other guidance. And we're pretty glad we did, because they came back with a delicious-sounding fusion menu and we whipped up a buncha cool-ass beer pairings (which, spoiler alert, involve that new barrel-aged beer I just mentioned) and anyway it's gonna be fun and you should come!

Then on Saturday we have our Kafka Day Closing Ceremonies which is actually just a beer and Girl Scout Cookie pairing and in no way "ceremonial" unless Jared can find his Drinkin' Sash. Anyway, we paired up some beers for the cookies that we didn't include in our pairing last week (and, if we do say so ourselves, there are some very tasty pairings here) and we'll be gettin' on the ol' Zooms at 5 to drink beer and eat cookies and hang out, so come hang out!

Also of note, starting this weekend, it's Mass Beer Week! And we're celebrating by teaming up with the other three breweries in Everett (Aeronaut, BearMoose, and Night Shift) and doin' one o' them passport deals! Long story short: if you get a beer (onsite or to-go) at all four breweries within two weeks, you'll get a glass with all of our logos on it!
And moving along into future times, next Friday we'll be bringin' back our Weekly Beer Spotlight and this time around we'll be doing a side-by-side comparison of Joybringer (which may or may not be Jared's pride and joy) alongside its barrel-aged sibling: Joyrider! We'll be gettin' together in the ol' Virtual Meeting Room and drinkin' some beer and talking about barrels and we might chat a bit about beer history that we definitely didn't look up fifteen minutes before the call and anyway it'll be a good time!

And speaking of next week, next Saturday we're doin' another virtual event to support the Hartshorne House! This time around, we'll be talkin' beer and cheese pairing while the fine folks from the Hartshorne Association are talkin' history! Over the course of the evening, Liz and Jared will get on camera to periodically talk beer and eat cheese and interspersed with that will be a "virtual tour" that's all about Wakefield history! Tickets are still on sale for a week or so, so if you wanna get all Historical with us (and/or eat cheese), you better snag you one!
Then the week after next we're doin' another Hell Night with Brato! But we've already spent enough time shouting about events this week, so we'll save our hollerin' for next time!
