In Which We Enjoy the Mirage Daze of Summer

Well hey there! We've once again got a buncha good tastes and good times lined up for your enjoy, so step right up and check out all this cool stuff!

First up is - you guessed it - another band beer! This one is an IPA made to pair with the sounds of Lesser Glow and we're callin' it I am the Island and it's tasty as hell and it's gonna be in cans on Friday (and on tap at some point,* whenever we have a free draft line) and you should drink some! ​

And speaking of anniversary beers, we've got more anniversary beers! We've got a few barreled and/or blended beers that are waitin' to be released and the first one is a barreled blend made to pair with the music of Worshipper and it's called Mirage Daze! This tasty little number doesn't skimp on the barrel character, but it's also got a pinchy punch of tartness due to a secret ingredient** and anyway it's on tap now and in bottles soon, and we're stoked as hell about this beer (this blend has been in the works for a while now) and we think you'll enjoy it too!

And while we're prattlin' on about the anniversary, we might as well prattle on some more about the anniversary! We talked a bit last week about all the cool food vendors we're gonna have, BUT did you know that we've got even MORE cool stuff lined up? Because we do! On Thursday (the 25th) we're doin' a dog fundraiser - we figured that things might be a bit crowded/loud for peoples' furry friends on a lot of the other days so we're encouraging people to get them pups out here before the chaos and so we're donating $1 per full pour to Great Dog Rescue New England! ​

We're not saying, "don't bring your dog to the party," but we are saying the music is gonna be LOUD and the beer garden is gonna be FULL, so Thursday might be the most thoughtful night for Fido. 

And then on Friday (the 26th) we're bringin' the heat with Barry's Hot Sauce up in the house slingin' spicy sauces, then on Saturday (the 27th) we've got our friend(s) from Heads Up Screenprinting here to do some live screenprinting and they'll be printin' up some exclusive one-day-only*** designs AND they'll print on stuff that you bring them if you want our logo on something other than their stock blanks (and honestly these designs are pretty rad on flannels and hoodies and stuff, and I think they're just bringing t shirts) and anyway they're here from 1-4 so come early if you want some printing! ​

And lastly, on Sunday (the 28th), we've got Light of Day Records comin' by and doin' a popup vinyl shop from 12-4! So really the point is that even if beer and music and food weren't enough for you, we've also got a buncha cool other stuff lined up too!

Aaaand to bring things "back to the present" for a bit, this Thursday we've got another round of Simpsons Trivia for all y'all and the theme is Season Eight! This season is definitely in our wheelhouse (Jared had most of it on VHS in high school, which is probably not a real bragging point?) and also it's pretty much the high point of the show and it's gonna be hella fun and you should come out! 

And then on Friday we're kickin' things down a notch and coolin' out with some Surf Guitar Happy Hour! Yes indeedy, our friend Matt Heaton will be strummin' out some surf jams and helpin' you ease into the weekend and it's gonna be a great time! 

And! Lastly! We've got another trivia comin' up next Wednesday (the 17th) that you might wanna know about and it's based on Bill & Ted! We'll be ridin' along through some excellent adventures and a bogus journey and a... whatever that third one was called... and there's gonna be prizes and friendship and good times and you should come out! ​

Full Time Production Assistant/Assistant Brewer
Are you lookin' to get your hands dirty making the best dang beer around? If so, then you're in luck because we! Are! Hiring! We're looking for an entry-level person to help out with our production work - it's a lot of manual labor (mostly cleaning. And note taking. So much note taking), but we're proud of what we make and we think it's rewarding to have something to show for all that hard work. Plus there's a lot of room to grow within the company, and before you know it you'll be involved in every step of the brewing process from grain to glass!

* Your humble bloggists are on vacation this week, which means the blog was written in advance instead of hurriedly typed out on the walk to work on Wednesday morning like it usually is. More to the point, we may be a little inaccurate about timing on things like this (well, more inaccurate than usual, that is)
** It's worth noting that this isn't our usual secret ingredient ("beer of questionable provenance, because the label fell off or the keg cap got smudged or something, but we really liked it so we used it anyway"), but that's all we're gonna say. It's a blend of like five beers, so it's unlikely that any should stand out that much. 
*** Last year some of them weren't technically "one day only" because he bought some extra shirts and we got those printed too, but I wouldn't count on that if you've got your eye on something.
