For those of y'all that weren't around to share in our second anniversary festivities, we'll recap briefly by saying that it was one hell of a fun day and we are humbled and honored and straight-up overwhelmed by the sheer number of rad people who came out to have a good time at our birthday party. Turns out there's a whole lotta y'all who have been with us since (or nearly since) the dang beginning - either here in person or followin' along online or some mix of the two - and it was just completely heartwarming to see all y'all that day. We might not have gotten to stop and chat with everybody we wanted to,* and even when we did it was a bit more rushed than we might have liked, so we'd like to (last time, I promise) thank you again for coming.
Thank you for coming in to our brewery over the past couple years and drinking our weird old man beers and putting up with our near-constant production/expansion/buildout delays and being a part of our (admittedly somewhat niche) events and participating in the fun activities we put in the taproom for you and jeez I don't even know what else. But moving back to the birthday for just one more moment until we stop talking about it,** we gotta give credit where credit's due, and whoa nelly is there a lot of credit that's due.

And none of us would have been able to persevere drinking beers and playing jenga without our bellies full of treats from our vendors - Alex's Ugly Sauce and Top Shelf Cookies and Smokin' Betty's and Mr. Tamole!

We bought SO MANY COOKIES
Despite their smoker coming unhitched from the truck on the way down, Smokin' Betty's still managed to kill it with their BBQ game!
And they found the smoker!
But! That's now in our past, and we must move forward, not backward. Upward, not forward. And always twirling, twirling toward freedom! And with that in mind, it's in our collective best interest to mention that we will be open on Monday September 3rd from noon 'til eight because it's Labor Day and long weekends are just made for porch beers (and if they ain't, we'll have to do some serious soul searchin').
But! Backin' up a bit and leadin' on up to that glorious extra day this weekend, we've got some cask comin' atcha on Thursday! And if you're lookin' to relive some fond memories of this past weekend (if only briefly), then you're in luck because that dang ol' cask is Sunken Wit! With extra Centennial!
And it's gonna be delicious!
Speaking of delicious, did we tell you that we've got Oh My! IPA back in the tanks? No? Well guess what: we've got Oh My! IPA back in the tanks! More to the point, it's gonna be going into kegs this week, and will be tapped Imminently thereafter.
Tasty times, indeed.
And while we're ridin' the tasty train, you best know that we've got Eat More Mexican comin' through the taproom on Saturday in order to ensure that you, um, eat more Mexican.
Oh! And! On Sunday, we'll be slingin' mini Union Square Donuts because that's apparently a thing we do on long weekends now. Come satiate your sweet tooth!
Looking a bit farther into the future (and just a teensy bit farther away from the brewery), we're gonna be pouring at a cask festival at Cape Cod Brewing on Saturday, September 8th! And we're pretty stoked to say that we'll be bringin' birthday beers - namely Blood Built (which you may remember as the cask from our birthday party that lasted all of five hours), and Jaunty (which hasn't been on in the taproom yet but we straight up know it gon' be good)! So come on by and drink some casks and hang out on The Cape!
We'll be there, lawn chairs in tow (even if they stick us inside this time)!
And in somewhat more somber news, this past weekend we bid adieu to our now-former bartender Bubs (this goofy bastard). Things like "life" and "adult responsibility" got in the way of things here, so our bartender/lab asisstant/kickball czar Grace saw to it that we send him off in the classiest way we know how.
With seasonally irrelevant cake bearing an ominous message!
Oh! And I almost forgot, what with all that ramblin' I had to do, we've got August's coloring contest winners! And due to the sheer volume of kickass entries this month, we've got just a ton of runners-up! Woo!

Lastly, we thought it might be prudent to "clear the air" about what all is going on with our "expanded taproom" since it was "open for one day and one day only." And, as always, the answer is as unsatisfying as it is boring.
But at least it looks cool!
Basically we were able to open up the new side of the taproom this past weekend because we had a one-day permit to do so (which is also why we had y'all drinkin' in the parking lot), but there's a lot of building code stuff that still needs done before we can have that be a permanent thing. It's all fire exits and sprinklers and exit signs and ventilation and stuff like that - stuff that doesn't really make it look any more done, but which (it turns out) is pretty important to the building department. We've got our optimism set on having things in ship-shape (or at least ship-ish shape) towards the end of Patio Season, since that's when it get's a bit overly cozy in here, but we'll see.
