Hello today and welcome back to our blog! Now, if you'll recall all the way back to last week,* we had a bit of a cliffhanger situation along the lines of "will any work get done? Probably not!" Our dock had just been torn out and we were fully prepared for the parties responsible to wander off into the mist or whatever it is that contractors do when they spend six weeks being completely unresponsive, but guess what: we were wrong! Things are being done! We are confused but delighted.
We'd like to thank Pomps and his one man backhoe show for the sixty-plus feet of beautiful dirt progress.
Admittedly, the current state of affairs isn't the prettiest to behold - our lot has been transformed into a gigantic hole surrounded by similarly gigantic piles of dirt,** but it does represent some pretty big steps towards makin' the outside of our building pretty (hopefully in the form of actually getting new steps)!*** If things keep going like this,**** we might actually get to brew some dang beer before the heat death of the universe!
And, turning our focus inside the brewery for a moment, we been keepin' ourselves busy with settin' up the last bits o' equipment and testin' out some process flows. I won't bore you with details about how we CIPed the brewhouse because nobody in the world thinks that's an interesting topic of conversation, but suffice to say: most of the days ended with fewer chemical burns than we were anticipating. Success!

*** In the words of our friends over at the Building Department, "You gotta crack a few eggs to make an omelette. And we love omelettes!"
**** And considering that we briefly toyed with the idea of renaming ourselves to Production Delays Brewing Company, we're not getting our hopes up too high.
