In Which We Prepare For a Pierogi Feast

Hello friends! Welcome back! It's been a snacktacular week around here, and we're keepin' this delicious party rollin' by bringin' in a bunch more treats for you to eat and drink!

And what better way to kick things off than by being open another dang day out the week so's we can serve you pizza! Relative newcomer (to us, anyway) Sillari's Pizza up in Malden managed to impress* the heck out of us with what they have to offer (and frankly, some of their ideas for future foods sound straight-up incredible), so we gon' fire up the warmer and start us some Pizza Thursdays!

Pizza and beer. Got it? Got it.

And hot on the heels of that, we've got the ladies from Jaju Pierogi comin' through on Friday to do what they do best (hint: it involves butter). Have you ever eaten so much that you feel kinda gross, but you're still kinda proud of yourself? We did that the last time they came through. Twice. In one night. 

So we're thinkin' this is gonna be a pretty solid evening. 

In the midst of all this pierogi anticipation, we almost forgot to mention we'll have a new beer on tap this weekend! Remember that double IPA we were crowing about a couple weeks back? No? That's cool. We've been busy whispering sweet nothings to the sides of the tank and dry hopping the bejeezus out of it for the last week or so, and it's going into kegs... today! Keep an eye out for batch #50: Monarch Double IPA, brewed as a tribute to our first-ever batch.

And with all these front-of-house fun times goin' on (more details on future events below, hint hint), we realized it's been a good long while since we've taken you behind the curtain** and given you the lowdown on the haps behind the scenes. And that's our bad, especially since we started this ridiculous blog to give y'all a glimpse into the weird, messy, hectic jumble o' nonsense we got goin' on around here. Admittedly we ain't got much in place just yet (not like that's ever stopped us from gettin' all giddy before), so we kinda figured we'd just focus on the things that, y'know, exist.*** But that don't mean we ain't got a buncha things in the works! Tanks and chillers and new weird hops and floor repairs and cellarmen and casks and all kinds of crazy crap.

So with that in mind, we'll leave you with this picture of all the floor repairs we spent the last week doing in preparation for our Big Expansion, on which we'll be providing the details**** next week in a new (hopefully recurring) segment we like to call... A Peek Behind the Curtain (hopefully we'll have a less-dumb name next week) (unlikely).

* Let's be serious: if you unexpectedly show up with free pizza, we're already 80% of the way to impressed. 90% if it's good pizza (and it sure was). 
** The one that leads into the brewery, that is. Not the one covering our bay door that people tend to assume is a stage for some reason. 
​*** We don't exactly miss the days where "we bought a shelf" or "we fixed the floor" were front-page news around here.
