In Which We (Prepare to) Celebrate
Hello friends. The time is finally upon us already. Thassright - time for our dang ol' birthday party! As regular readers* of this lil' ol' blog will know (and probably be tired of hearing about already), our birthday is a pretty Big Deal to us around here - it means we've gotten to spend another entire year doing what we love and making the best thing we possibly can to share with the world. It's been TWO YEARS full of casks and Costco snacks and wedding beers and weird ridiculous trivia and beers with names that nobody can pronounce and kickball and coloring contests and dog-themed beers and hippos and cookies and hot sauce and pinball and friendship, from patio times to snow days and back again. We're proud of what we've made here, and we've had one hell of a time along the way, but we couldn't have done any of this without you and we're incredibly lucky to have found so many people who like the same cool shit that we do.
Get ready party people! This thing is this week!
And since we needed a proper way to say Thank You for coming to the brewery and bringing people in for the first time and being a part of all that stuff I just mentioned and generally being all-around Rad People, we've been busting our collective humps for the past month or two to cram as much Fun Stuff as we possibly can into our upcoming party! We racked our brains trying to think of things everyone would like and then we did what we always do and said "fuck it, let's just fill it with things that we enjoy and hope for the best." And now here we are! Anyway, we've talked about most of it in drips and drabs here and there in the past, but here's the Full Serving of details for Saturday's shindig!
And speaking of serving, we've got a brand new bar we're taking for a spin!
First up: merch. We ain't usually like to plug this stuff so front-and-center, but we've got fairly limited quantities and we ain't want you to miss out on hearing about it just because you didn't want to read through seven paragraphs about bands we like. Anyway: we've got some day-of limited-edition merch in the forms of T-shirts (unisex), tank tops (womens), and mugs (also unisex)! As an added lil' somethin', the mugs come with a bag o' goodies and - AND - you should probably get a mug early and drink out of it all day (because they're fun to drink out of and also a little bigger than our standard glassware).
A good shirt for good times.
Plus, you can use the back to remember where you got it!
Well yeah, of course there's candy.
Secondly: bands, and the beers we brewed to pair with them. And first on our list (though not first on the stage) is our pals The Weisstronauts! They were kind enough to grace our stage and delight us with their wonderful tunes at our birthday last year (when they were one out of one bands, and competing with a pig roast for peoples' collective attention), and this year they're treatin' us to a double set - starting at 2:00! We've seen them live a number of times, and we never fail to be impressed, so we predict you gon' enjoy! And to pair with these here tunes, we brewed up a nice 'n' easy session IPA (named Jaunty, of course) full of citrus and berries and caramel and fruit and all kinds of good stuff!
I wanty some Jaunty!
Moving on, as it were, we certainly can't leave out the first band of the day, starting at noon, Sunken City! While we'll admit that we're least familiar with this particular band (in the sense that we haven't heard them per se), that sure as heck ain't gonna stop us from brewin' up a beer to go with their music! The beer in question is Sunken Wit and it's a light 'n' bright 'n' as-classic-as-we-get witbier!
Come and get it (if our staff hasn't kicked it already)!
And as the day winds on, we've got DnA's Evolution! If you're not ready to rock, then we don't even know what to tell you about this set, because they'll be puttin' out good tunes and good vibes starting at 6:00! And to pair with some straight-up rock enjoyment? You guessed it: pale ale. We've got a soft spot for some Classic American malt-forward pale ale and dang if DNA Pale don't hit that spot.
Last but not least, we've got our friends Blood Built Empire hoppin' on stage at 8:00! As you may have noticed, the whole day's musical catalog was designed to slowly increase in terms of energy level and/or pure rock fury as the day goes on, and these kids have that in spades! And what to drink alongside such a performance? Why, a dry stout of course!
A good headbanging beer.
And also, in addition to all the fun band beers, we're releasing a beer named Lil' Delicious for our pinball guy! He's not a band as far as we know (though we've heard that he'll start some a capella Michael Jackson and or Wham! jams if he's got some beer in him) but he's been workin' with us since The Early Days and we thought it would be rad to make a beer about him, so we did! It's named after his daughter, and it's a hoppy blonde full of peaches and strawberries and sunshine and all that fun crap.
A lil' delicious beer named after a lil' delicious baby.
Speaking of friendship, we've got some food friends joining the party as well! For those of you lookin' to get your grub on, we've got Smokin' Betty's BBQ bringin' the smoker from noon to six, and they'll be dishin' out brisket and pulled pork and ribs and veggie burgers and all the fixin's! And if you wanna bring the heat to match your meat, we've got Alex's Ugly Sauce comin' through to put some fire in your mouth - and word has it that they've whipped up a special concoction for this special day! After all that heat and meat you probably need somethin' sweet, and we got you covered 'cuz Top Shelf Cookies is bringin' treats! Plus, if your noshin' times tend to run a little bit on the later side, we're gonna have Mr. Tamole in the house slingin' tamales startin' at 6pm and goin' through the evening!
Oh! And there's a cask! Of course there's a cask. There's always a cask. And depending on how the weekend goes up until that point, there might be two! See, we're tappin' a cask of DNA on Thursday because we got excited and didn't want to wait until Saturday (though there will probably be a fair amount left come Saturday), but we didn't want to be cask-free for any amount of the day so as soon as that one kicks we'll be throwin' on a cask of Blood Built!
What a handsome draft list!

Great read, my Dear; except, no need for the F-word. It's just not classy.
